The best of both

Jenny took a step inside the room and was at a loss for words. Her eyes moved from the well-matched furniture, to the warm design, to the perfect mix of both of their styles and she loved every bit and inch of it. Though it had only been a few seconds since Jenny had opened the door and had stepped into the room, Jason had been following Jenny in utter silence to find out what she thought of his surprise and time goes by slowly for those who wait. So, for Jason it had felt like he had been waiting for an hour. After he had seen her head turn around the room slowly and he was convinced she must have seen enough to have an impression, he gave up and asked, "Well...Do you like it? You said you didn't want to move into the room upstairs yet, but the going back and forth was a hassle, so I asked a few people I know to merge our rooms together...". Jenny did not say anything, all she could reply with was a nod of the head and a cheerful shriek as she jumped up and down from excitement. Jason relaxed immediately from seeing that and knew that he had done well. He looked at her excitedly move about the room and loved seeing her so like that. He felt like her reaction made everything worth it, including keeping the secret for so long.

Jason had tried to take the best of both of their rooms and combine them to a perfect room for the both of them to share, till they would move to the master bedroom on the second floor. He had a team of highly skilled men and women come and change the rooms over the summer, so that he could surprise Jenny upon arrival. He had kept the two separate doors, but now they opened up to the same room, just different parts of it. He knew that Jenny would get upset if he would get rid of the furniture that was already in the rooms, so instead of replacing everything, he had them repurposed.

It started with the reading corner by the windowsill that Jenny loved so much, which had now been modified to accommodate two people. The soft pillows that she would lean into when she would sit there had been put in a new "jacket" to match the lounge set, which now consisted of twice the number of sofa's and seats. Her lounge set and the one from Jason's room had been from the same line, just a different colour, so now that they had been put together it didn't look strange at all. Alternating between parts of the two, it formed one well matched mirrored set. From there it went to a ceiling high bookcase set against the wall across the door. Right next to it were two identical desks facing each other and another identical bookcase on the other side of those desks, which judging by the covers on the schoolbooks in it, was Jason's. On the other side of the room, the wall was covered by a large bookcase with all kinds of reading books, ranging from hard to read literary books to your sappy romantic ones, which should keep the both of them entertained for quite some time.

At the far side of the room, where a wall and her closet used to be, there were now two walk-in closets with a door dividing them in the middle. Jenny's side appeared unchanged, but where a wall used to, now, what she could only assume was Jason's closet, was facing her. With an emphasis on the word 'appeared', because now that he had been living with her for a longer period of time, Jason had gotten even better at guessing Jenny's style and had expanded her already enormous wardrobe. With their rooms being mirrored, switching Jason's closet to this room, despite all the mechanics hadn't been difficult as it had always been in that position. So, with a simple knocking down of the wall and placing a new one on the other side, it had been reversed to this side of the wall, but it made the image of this room complete. That was until it occurred to Jenny that something very vital was missing from it. Suddenly Jenny became silent and stopped in the middle of her movement as she turned to Jason and asked with a questioning look, "Where's the bed?". Jason smiled and put a hand on the small of her back. "Follow me.", he said as he guided her to the back of the room.

He opened the door that was dividing the two walk-in closets, which led them to where Jason's room used to be. Once they walked through that door, they walked into what had now become a bedroom. With a large bed in the middle, bedside tables on either side and against the wall by the door that used to form the only entrance into this room, was Jenny's beautiful dressing table with the hidden glass layered drawers that could be revealed and opened with her fingerprint. It appeared that too had been expanded as Jason had bought all kinds of accessories to match the new clothes he had purchased, despite the first sets being more than enough to match whatever he could buy. But Jason could not be stopped once he started a spoiling spree for Jenny. Especially not by something like money that he was already swimming in.

The adjustments didn't stop there as Jason walked her into the bathroom. This part of the rooms had been fused together as well, resulting into one large bathroom. With a his and her sink, a bathtub large enough to fit four, let alone two people, a steam-shower cabin, and a sauna-cabin in the far back. Jason revealed that the tub even had a jacuzzi setting, in case they wanted to relax their sore muscles with a nice bubbles massage. No matter where she looked, Jenny could not find a flaw in this rooms design and was lost in her love from what she was seeing. How could this crazy man do all of this over such simple words from her? All for such a short period of time as he had already prepared a room on the floor above this one for when they were married and she already knew that that room would probably be even more amazing than this one, though she didn't know how that would be possible.

Here we are with the first chapter of today. The next one will be out later today!
