Swung and missed

While Jenny was storming upstairs, she suddenly feels Jason's hand grab hers. She stops in the middle of her movement as he hugs her from behind to calm her down. He lets her go after a he feels the tenseness from her body disappear and they head to Jenny's room. Neither of them speaks a word as sit down on her sofa and she leans in on Jason's embrace. He puts his arm around her and she pulls up her legs. With each breath she feels him take, she calms down a bit more. It is at this moment that she starts to realize what she has said and done. She starts to feel bad, because she feels she might have overreacted. This day had already been quite draining and just when she expected a bit of rest from all the drama, she was faced with another unexpected confrontation. Not having completely processed what had happened during the day, made her take George's words and requests with her while listening to her mother-in-law speak and again when formulating her response. She had not taken the time to explain things to her in a rational way, but had taken out everything that had happened on one person.

Jenny is awoken from her thoughts by a faint knock at the door. She blinks a few times before realizing the position she is in. Another faint knock can be heard. This time it was a bit louder and she could hear the voice of one of the maids. She is startled and quickly frees herself from Jason's embrace. He had dozed off and was awoken by Jenny's attempt to run off. He lets out a disgruntled sound while forcing himself to wake up fully. "Miss Jenny, madam has told me to inform you that she and the master Stephen have returned to their chambers and asks you to return to the dining room and have supper before retiring for the night." By now Jenny is straightening her hair that had become disheveled from resting her head on Jason's chest as Jason is watching her with a dissatisfied look. Jenny replies to the maid, "T-t-thank you. I will be right down". Jenny imagines how the person on the other side of the door is bowing slightly after completing her task and taking her leave, however to her surprise she hears her say that she will go and inform the "young master" as well. Hearing this Jenny suddenly calls out "No!"She runs to the bedroom door and opens it to stop the maid in question. With an awkward smile she tells the young woman "No don't go over to his room. I will call him down myself. He was just taking a nap. I am afraid that he won't respond kindly if you awaken him." She lets out a weird laugh, "he he ..he". The maid bows in her direction and goes downstairs. Jenny sighs a breath of relieve. She would die of embarrassment if she was caught in that position with Jason or if she had witnessed Jason walking out of her room, both of them looking like they did right now. Hair messed up, clothes wrinkled and his shirt undone and untucked.

She closes the door again and turns around to see Jason staring at her with an amused expression. "It is true that I was taking a nap, but why do I feel that you were more concerned with trying to hide something from the maid than my waking up. Especially considering I was already rudely awakened about a kitty trying to run from me before she even had a chance to go to my door. Hmm?" Jenny's expression turned to shock once more and she abruptly turns around again to hide her embarrassment. "Stop talking nonsense and let's go downstairs to eat. Otherwise I will leave you behind". After saying these words she walked off and headed towards the stairs. In no time she was followed by Jason who hastened his pace to catch up to her. Just as he was trying to grab her hand, she pulled hers away and ran down the stairs. Jason paused for a second from surprise, but quickly recovered by faking a cough.

He slowly goes down the remaining steps while pretending he hadn't just swung and missed. When he enters the dining room, he finds it is empty. With a confused look he goes in search of his runaway bride and finds her in the kitchen. Eating with a plate in her hands and while sitting on the bar-table. She stops mid bite when she sees him enter and looks away. Jason ignores Jenny's weird behavior and goes to fix a plate for himself as well, while wondering "What is going in on the head of that silly woman". The mood normalizes after he sits down at the end of the bar and starts eating as well. They start chatting away and are laughing happily, so Jason pays no more thought to what happened before. Once he finishes his dinner and stands up to clear his plate, he decides to use this opportunity of them being alone for some more affection. He grabs a glass of water and, while talking, closes in on Jenny who is still unsuspectingly sitting atop the bar. She instantly stops talking as soon as Jason's hand touches her face. As he goes in for a kiss, she moves her face away. She jumps off of the bar before Jason has a chance to understand what is going on and runs off. Jason's face turns into a pensive stare as he looks in the direction that Jenny ran off to. "This is the second time she evaded me. Is she trying to avoid me? Che, did she really think I would let her run away. Don't think so little rabbit. Let's find out why she is avoiding being close to me and teach her a lesson accordingly." An evil smirk formed on Jason's face as he was saying these last words.
