Summer in the Netherlands

The last week of exams of the school year had started. The first two days had passed by successfully and Jason and Jenny were unwinding by watching a movie together. Something that they had done a lot during their stay in the house in the city, but not so much once Jenny moved to England. They figured this would be the best way to clear their minds. Their exam tomorrow wasn't until late in the afternoon, so the revising was postponed till the day of. Allowing them to spend some quality time together. Unlike back then, Jenny had no trouble snuggling up to Jason. She was wearing one of his hoodies with a pair of comfy shorts. Much like a lot of other girls who loved wearing their boyfriend's hoodies, she too was a big fan of wearing Jason's hoodies over her own. It was like wearing one of his hugs and allowed her to hide away in the fabric as it was way too big for her. Jason had matched the relaxation outfit with one of his own. He was wearing sweatpants and a simple white t-shirt, matching it with slightly messy hair from tussling with Jenny over the hoodie. With their ultimate relaxation outfits on, they were ready for the action movie Jason had picked.

Jenny had already been sitting in a corner of the sofa and had her legs stretched out. Once Jason had everything set up and started the movie, he joined her. He saw her lying there, occupying the entire sofa and lifted her legs to place himself underneath. After that he scooted closer and with a swift movement lifted her up by her waist and placed Jenny on his lap under her playful shrieks. Once they were both seated, Jason wrapped his arms around Jenny's waist and rested his hands on her stomach. One hand holding onto the wrist of the other, caging Jenny in his embrace. Both heads resting against each other. Watching the movie in peace. With each tense scene or unexpected moment, Jenny instinctively grabbed hold of Jason's arm or hands. Combined with her unbroken focus on the screen, not even blinking if need be, had Jason fully amused. Making him tighten his hug, squeezing her body with a snicker. Jenny turned to look at him for a brief moment and smiled back at him before returning her eyes to the screen.

After their movie, they went for a walk to Jenny's favorite spot, the place where Jason's first proposal had taken place, the pond by the gate. It was slowly becoming summer and the weather tonight was particularly nice, making it perfect for a late-night walk. Even now Jason insisted on holding hands whenever they went out for a walk, regardless if this was outside or on the Westwood property. Jenny had started to quite enjoy this side of his possessiveness, loving how his large hands completely enveloped hers. Especially when it started getting colder, Jason managed to give her enough warmth to warm her entire body, from that small part of bodily contact. Like a living warm water bottle.

As they walked towards the water, Jenny brought up something she had been thinking about lately. As she rocked Jason's hand back and forth she said "Jace..As you know summer vacation starts in a few days and I was thinking that I haven't seen my mom in a long time. So, this summer I want to go visit her." Jason turned his head to the side and saw Jenny looking at the gravel in front of them. Not understanding her hesitation, he responded "Sure. How long do you want to stay there?" "Well.. that's the thing. I want to stay the entire summer..." Jason turned his head once more and froze in his movement for a moment. Bringing them both to a halt. "The entire summer? What about spending time with just us?" "I don't know. You can join me and we can try and work something out. It won't hurt you to spend some time with my family and I know that I need to. Other than during these holidays, when do I get to see them?"

Jason agreed in his mind, he knew she was right, but wasn't really good at sharing Jenny's attention. These past months he had been spoiled, by having no one to share her with except for the few days surrounding their engagement party. "I know. You are right. You should spend more time with your family and friends back at home. It's just that I didn't expect that you would want to spend the entire break over there. And of course I will join you. You going there without me, wasn't even an option in my mind. Plus, I still have some bonding to do with your brothers. Once we get married, they will be my family as well, so I need to leave a good impression on them. Otherwise they could make my life quite difficult." At that thought they both couldn't help but laugh.

"So, it's settled then? We are spending this summer in the Netherlands?" "Yeah..let's figure out the details as we take this walk. When do you want to leave?" "Well I was thinking of leaving right after our last exam, just like I came here a few months ago." Jenny said as she giggled. "The only thing we need to take care of is our plane ticket. We can sleep over at my mom's house. They have repurposed my room, but I can sleep in my mom's room and we can make you a bed in my brother's room or in the attic. Wherever you're more comfortable." Jason's eyes turned sharp and he grabbed Jenny by the chin to make eye contact. "Wait! what do you mean in the attic or your brother's room? After all this time you still want to sleep apart when we are over there?"
