Stuck in a dilemma

The next day another school week had started and Jenny had made her decision regarding which job to pick to earn the money for Jason's birthday gift. She had decided to accept the job at a private nursing home, where she was tasked to join the doctor on staff on his rounds and assist him with taking note of how the inhabitants are doing and writing down the instructions for the nurses. This would free up time for both the doctor and the nurses, so they could focus on the care that she wasn't allowed to perform. Since she wanted to be a doctor in the future, this was perfect for her as she would be able to learn on the job and gain some useful experience. Plus at her previous job she worked with the elderly as well and she was quite fond of them. So, she was sure she would fit right in and because it was a private facility they had the funds to pay her well for her help. She was impressed that her father-in-law had remembered that and had managed to find such a suitable job for her.

The job would be for three hours each day of the week and she would have weekends off. This way she would still have time for her schoolwork and time to spend with Jason, but she wouldn't be that person that was only at the office one day a week, never fully mastering the job and having to get accustomed to the tasks over and over again. Plus, the rounds were everyday as he had multiple floors under his care, so it only made sense if she came everyday so that she could stay in touch with the state of the people she was taking care of. On the weekends the doctor only came in there was an emergency, so there wouldn't be a need for her to be there either, which worked out for the both of them. Today after school would be her first day at her new job and she was looking forward to it very much.

While Jenny was dreaming away about her first day, Jason received a message from the person he had contacted before his grandfather's party asking him to look into Max. He had sent, "There wasn't much to find on him, but there was quite a lot on his parents and their family business. I also looked into that relationship you asked me about. I followed them around for the past couple of day's and asked around, I even hacked into their phones, but if they are truly in a relationship, he is hiding his tracks better than an adulterer." Jason narrowed his eyes and opened the file that was attached with his findings. As he read over the information he kept wondering what to do. If he showed Jenny the information, then she would become even more defensive of him because he had done a background check on her 'friend' when she asked him to trust her. Especially considering he had done it with hostile intentions. If he took action and didn't say anything, there was a chance of Jenny finding out and getting upset at him for hurting her 'friend' and not understanding why nor wanting to hear the reason at that point either. If he did nothing, there was the possibility of that snake doing whatever he had planned to her, before he had a chance to stop him or before Jenny's eyes were opened on her own. He was stuck in a dilemma, with no right move.

Having no way to make a decision, he decided to put his phone away for now and enjoy whatever time of truce he had left. He grabbed Jenny's hand and pulled her over until she was on his lap and put his arms around her as he placed his head on top of hers. Startled by his actions as she was pulled from the thought she was in she asked teasingly while patting his arms with her locked in arms, "What has gotten into you all of a sudden? Have you now reached the state where you miss me even when I am sitting next to you?" Without any hesitation Jason answered, "Yes. Do you have a problem with that?" Jenny chuckled in response as she shook her head in disbelief. "Whatever makes you happy, you silly man, but at least give me the freedom to use my hands." To fulfill her request, he lifted his arms up ever so slightly, so Jenny could pull her arms out from under his arms before he dropped them down again to their original position. Another chuckle could be heard and Jenny let the man be as she pulled her phone from her skirt pocket.

While she turned to her phone, Jason started wondering how she had remained seated without turning bashful or trying to claw her way out, when his eyes landed on the partition between them and driver and saw that it had already been put up. Without saying another word, Jason sat there peacefully, looking out of the window while holding onto his greatest weakness and greatest strength bundled into one petite, kind hearted woman. This continued for the remainder of the ride as Jason got lost in thought trying to think of what to do. Jenny didn't notice Jason's absentmindedness as she was occupied with messaging with Elizabeth about her newly acquired job, telling her all the details impressing even her at how well the job description fitted Jenny. "I couldn't have picked something better for you even if I had gotten the chance to write up the job for you myself!" Another couple of messages were sent back and forth when they reached the school and it was time for both of them to focus on something else, but for both of them the time would pass by quickly, though for very different reasons.
