Show and tell

Jason had entered the cafeteria stealthily, escaping the attention of the people who had been so focused on him before. As he walked alongside the walls of the room, he went straight to his goal. He knew Jenny wouldn't want the food from earlier to be wasted, but he also knew that there was no way for him to take the trays along. So, when he reached the counter of the lunchroom, he asked the lunch ladies behind it for some disposable spoons and simple containers to have his lunch outside of the cafeteria. Though they were surprised by his question as people generally came to the cafeteria, because they couldn't have lunch elsewhere. But when the heir to the Westwood fortune asked you something, you thought of a way to make it happen.

So, they grabbed one of the containers they usually used to keep the ingredients fresh. Since they had no disposable spoons, they gave him wooden spoons they kept for the herbs. These were meant to ensure that the taste of the herbs wouldn't get affected, something that could happen when using metal spoons, but it would have to make due for now. Hesitantly they presented what they had gathered from the kitchen. Holding onto their breaths as Jason looked it over. Seeing that this was the best they could do in such a short time, Jason accepted the materials they offered and thanked them before walking away. Allowing them to finally breathe more freely.

After obtaining the materials he needed, he returned to the table where his friends were eating. Without a shred of embarrassment Jason had come back to the scene of the 'crime', where he had given quite a show moments before. They were in the middle of discussing what he had done, when he suddenly appeared at the table with the containers and the spoons. Nick responded proudly and teasingly, "There is the man of the hour. That was quite a bold move considering Jenny's disposition. Where have you left your crimson princess? Or was she unwilling to stand beside you after today?" Jason didn't seem bothered by Nick's remarks but a slight chill came from his answer as he transferred the food. "There is no need for you to worry about her. Jenny is doing just fine beside me. It's you she doesn't want to be around. So, save your princess remarks for your own fiance."

"Miauw. Geez man, be it single or taken, no man gets away unscathed when it comes to Jenny hmm?" Jason looked up with a teasing smile and replied, "Damn straight." Before closing the lids on the plastic Tupperware like boxes and leaving. Causing the other friends to start laughing, while Nick sat there flabbergasted for being tricked so easily by Jason's snippy comment. In the flash moment before he had seen Jason's smile, he had started to think that maybe Jason's make up session hadn't gone so well making him return to the table with such an unclear expression. Since it was clear that it was not a happy one, he thought that he had maybe hit a sore spot for Jason, who was preparing for round two with Jenny. Feeling that he might have been insensitive. Only to be laughed at by all his friends, including the guy who he had been worried about. Even if it was just for a split second.

Feeling cheated Nick shouted as Jason walked away to meet back up with Jenny, "Just you wait Westwood. I will get back at you for this. I was the idiot for worrying about a guy like you." Jason chuckled with his back facing Nick, but it was clear to him that Jason was laughing at his threat. Making him even more frustrated about it all. This was when Elizabeth took it upon herself to calm her grumbling reformed playboy. Luckily this didn't take much. She put her hand on the side of his face and made him turn to face her. She looked him deep in his eyes and said, "I for one love that you are a guy who worries about his friends so earnestly." and placed a kiss on his lips. Doing easily and calmly what Jason had done moments before to Jenny, making the crowd of students in the area lose their calm once more. This must be their lucky day as they got to witness such a scene from two of the most famous couples at Mounthforth High. Feelings of excitement and jealousy filling the air. Harry, George and Julia looked at each other baffled as they wondered what was going on with their friends and if they had missed a memo about this being a special kind of show and tell day.

When Jason returned to the spot where he had left Jenny behind, he was still laughing about the scene with Nick. How he loved to tease and oh how easily it came to him, making the list of his potential and actual victims endless. Jenny who wasn't aware of the trick he had pulled on Nick looked at Jason with eyes filled with curiosity. "What's so funny?" Jason, who was holding the two take away containers containing the contents of the untouched lunch trays from before, shook his head. "It's nothing. Let's eat before the lunch break is over."

Though it was much easier to eat standing side by side, Jason was having none of it. This part of his newfound insistent attachment had not been him testing the limits and had therefore remained after it was all out in the open. He returned to his original position of sitting against the windowsill and without any effort he pulled Jenny to lean against him as he put one of his hands around her waist. Jenny at first glanced back at Jason after being pulled by the waist of her skirt, almost dropping the food she had just received, but he started eating as if he had done nothing at all. As if it was just a gust of wind that had pushed her back into his arms. So, with a chuckle and a shaking of the head she accepted her fate and started on her meal as well. Allowing the both of them to return to their little bubble for another brief moment before classes would start again and Jenny would be faced with the curious eyes of their fellow classmates.
