Second first dance

The ring that was slipped onto Jason's finger, the ring they had picked as his wedding band, had been none other than his great-grandfather's wedding band. They had come up with the idea to match their rings in this way on a whim, just days before the wedding. But it stuck by them and they grew more fond of the idea with each passing day. When Susan found the ring, when she went to pick the jewelry she would be wearing to their wedding in the family vault, and showed it to Jenny with no extra meaning behind it, Jenny and Jason took it as a sign. So, Jason was given his great-grandfather's matching wedding band by Jenny instead of a newly bought wedding band to wish themselves a long lasting and happy marriage like Jason's great-grandparents' had been.

Till Jenny, the ring of his great-grandmother had been used as a proposal ring and would thus be an engagement ring. Since a man usually does not have an engagement ring there has never been the need for a matching ring for the man. But now that it had become a wedding ring, it was only befitting that Jason's wedding ring would be the one that matched hers. This meant that as one of the most wealthiest couples in all of England, neither of them had received a new ring on their wedding day and had instead reused rings that held a special meaning to the both of them. Those who were unfamiliar with the romance behind the rings found it strange that they would prefer to wear 'second handed' rings, instead of buying something. But everyone that knew the story of the story behind Mountforth High and Jason's great-grandparents felt that those rings were perfect, just as Jenny and Jason did.

Once the rings were exchanged, it was time for Jason to kiss his bride and thus for Jenny to do something she never imagined she would do in front of all of her relatives. A bit anxiously she closed her eyes, as she tried to forget that her brothers were sitting in the front row. When she felt Jason's hand on the side of her face, her body tensed up for a moment until she realized that Jason had placed his hand on that side of her face on purpose in order to hide her face from the excited guests. She became fully relaxed by the time Jason's face had reached hers. She let the fluttering of her stomach run free as Jason's lips touched hers. It was a short, sweet kiss and with that their union had been sealed twice and neither of them could back out anymore.

When she opened her eyes, she was directly looking into Jason's eyes. He had yet to let go of her face and was looking at her as though he wanted to use his eyes to convey all that he was feeling at that moment. Most of which was complete and utter defeat by the love he felt for her. Never did he imagine he could care for another person like he cared for Jenny and though he couldn't imagine it at the moment, he was convinced that this feeling would only continue to grow as they continued to spend their lives together. After that brief private moment, Jason turned to face their friends and family as he held Jenny's hand tightly. They walked back over the rose petal covered isle towards the room where they would have their second first dance under the cheering and applause of the guests.

Jenny and Jason's eyes were glued together from the moment they were called onto the dance floor as "Mr. and Mrs. Jason Westwood" and it remained this way all throughout their elegant dance. Since everything had been planned in such a short time, they hadn't had the opportunity to study in a choreographed first dance and instead they went with a simple, yet elegant waltz. Jenny had been taught classical dancing during her time in England because as Jason's partner, she needed to know how to do the traditional dances for the high class events they would have to attend as a couple. Lessons which proved very useful for a day such as this. Though the dress that Jenny was wearing was quite heavy because of all the detailing and layers, she was moving over the dance floor as if she was as light as a feather. Moving along with Jason's steps as if she was a leaf and Jason was the wind. Making their dance look graceful and effortless, though it was anything but effortless.

After the song had finished and the next song started, they were joined on the dance floor by the other guests till it was time for dinner to be served. Just like everything else that day, it was as close to perfection as money could buy. Leaving themselves and their guests having nothing else to wish for. Even if you wanted to complain, there hadn't been a single thing to find fault with. Not with the decorations, not with the time management, not with the bride's dresses and now even the food that was being served appeared to be flawless. Jason delivering the level of quality that he displayed in every other aspect of his life, despite his disadvantages. Leaving their friends, that had yet to hold their wedding, with ginormous shoes to fill.

Finally our couple has overcome their troubles so far and have become husband and wife not once, but twice. I hope you enjoyed today's chapter and I will be back here tomorrow with another chapter.
