Scavenger hunt

"...I know everyone is happy that we won, but the sports festival has always been a truce zone where everyone gets the chance to win the prize fair and square, without any interference from me or anyone. This year I have failed to keep that promise, starting from my behavior for the past few days. I refuse to let this tradition be ruined in my last year at Mountforth High. I let my own anger get the best of me, making it an unfair competition at the end. So, to make up for it I want to ask the runner up class as a whole to join us at the boat party. I understand that you might have people who you have already promised to take along or have someone you wish to bring along that does not belong to that class. So, I will pay for the expenses of all the potentially extra students. If need be I will hire a bigger boat to make this happen or we can change the location to the Saint Elizabeth." Everyone was silent for a brief moment until an ear deafening cheer of the crowd surrounded him. The students from the runner up class could not believe their ears. The party that had seemed to slip through their fingers, had been returned to them once more and by the person they had least expected it from.

It had been made even better than it was before, because where they had a small chance of attending a grand boat party in their lives, there was no chance for them to ever embark on the private yacht of the Westwoods the Saint Elizabeth. This last part was true for the poor students and wealthy alike, which caused them all to become more excited than they had been before. Including his own classmates. One of the reasons they had thought that Elizabeth was meant to be his fiance was due to the naming of this boat. But they found out later that the naming had nothing to do with their Elizabeth and was in fact named after Jason's great grandmother. It was over 130 meters ling, with 60 rooms among which fifteen suits for the elders of the Westwood family and was only available for the private use of the Westwood family. So, until now the only people who had been on that yacht had been members of the Westwood family and their close friends. Of course the family had more boats and yachts, but this one was by far the largest, the most extravagant and the most exclusive.

Jenny was pleasantly surprised by Jason's offer to the other students and looked at the man she had chosen with a warm and loving smile. Jason made eye contact with Jenny from above the crowd and gestured Harry and Nick to let him down. Though Jason had improved in many aspects since Jenny had come into his life, the only students that were actually allowed to touch him were the people whom he considered friends. That had not changed yet and probably never would. But considering where he had started, that was a small price to pay for having this version of Jason as a fellow student and classmate. Who knows what more the future would bring. Once Jason was back on the ground he walked over to Jenny and grabbed her extended hands. Jenny pulled him down and stood on her toes as she placed a quick kiss on his lips. "Congratulations on your victory. That was a really nice thing you did there. You made a lot of people really happy. Finally using that ridiculous amount of money you have for something good." Jenny said with a chuckle.

"How is spending it on the woman I love not a good thing?" Jenny blushed at his sudden expression of love and mumblingly changed the topic to the scavenger hunt as she looked around as to avoid his eyes much to Jason's amusement. "Yes..well..anyways we should start cleaning up. It's almost time for the scavenger hunt. We don't want to be late for that. I am curious about that prize. He he he" After saying this Jenny broke her hands free and went to help clean up the final items of the finished events. To allow everyone to participate in the scavenger hunt, including the class representatives, the scavenger hunt was organized by the teachers. In couples of two they would man a booth along the route and provide one of the challenges that students had to complete to obtain the next clue. Each teacher would pose a challenge according to their own field, making it entertaining for teachers and students alike.

With all students helping out, the cleaning up was quickly finished and the final event of the day could start. While the students had been cleaning, the teachers had gone to their posts to set up. In groups of two, students that wanted to participate gathered at the first booth, where they collected their stamp-card and other necessities for the hunt as well as their number. The ones that didn't feel like participating could gather around the bonfire where snacks and drinks had been prepared. Jason had decided to sit out the scavenger hunt as he had done last year as well. He didn't need a prize and didn't want students thinking that he had been given information about the challenges beforehand because he was the principal's son. This had happened once in the past and had created quite a commotion. Though he didn't think any troubles would occur this year, he didn't want to take any chances in his senior year.
