Sad thoughts

In an hours time Jenny's flight had landed and in another hour she was back home. She quickly entered the family home, where she had been living for over ten years. As soon as she stepped inside, it felt like she had been gone for a month instead of a week. She entered the living room, placed down her bags and took a deep breath. She let herself fall down on the couch she loved so much and took in the familiar smells and sounds. After just sitting there for a while she headed upstairs to her bedroom. She brushed her teeth, put on her pajama's and went to bed. It was late at night and everyone was already asleep. Everyone except for her mom probably, who wouldn't be able to fall asleep before knowing all her chicks had returned to the nest. Jenny laughed to herself after imaging her mom as a mother hen and her and her brother as baby chicks, the way she imagined her mother still viewed them.

The next morning as soon as she woke up, she washed her face and ran down the stairs. As soon as she opened the living room door, she ran up to her mother. She opened up her arms and gave her mother, who had already stood up from her chair when she heard Jenny come down the stairs, the biggest bear hug she could muster up. She held her mother for a long time before she felt tickling under her arms. That was the silly way her mother broke up their hugs. By tickling her or putting her cold hands in her neck. She laughed and let her mom go. Her mom looked at her with eyes filled with love, gentleness and a hint of sadness. "How have you been my darling daughter? I have missed you" she said to Jenny in their native tongue. "If you were going to miss me, then why did you set me up with an Englishmen?" Jenny replied cheekily. Despite the smile on her face, Jenny's eyes were fighting back tears. Where in the plane all the good thoughts regarding this move and this experience came to her, here, in her own home, facing her mother who had been her only parent ever since she can remember, the sad thoughts came. And these thoughts were harsh, they were real and they were crushing her at the moment.

To think that after a weeks time, she would no longer be sleeping in her own bed, in her own home, and she wouldn't be able to see her friends and family everyday...Especially not being able to see her mom everyday. Not being able to hug her as soon as she came home. That thought struck her the most. It left her feeling sad. She didn't want to make her mom even sadder nor did she want to add to her worries. She had to calm herself down. So, Jenny quickly excused herself by saying she had to go to the bathroom, which was true, because Jenny was a person who disliked going to the bathroom in public places and refused to touch an airplane or train toilet. Once she locked the door, she wiped her tears away and washed her face to hide her reddened eyes. After a few minutes she had calmed down and she went to her mother's side again.

Although Jenny was still a bit sad, she knew no good things in life come for free. This move would bring her many things to be happy and grateful for, so it was to be expected that there would be some sacrifice as well. These thoughts of missing home would probably pass her mind more than once in the weeks to come, but it would all hopefully be worth it. She was one to get accustomed fast and this time would be no different. But no one could stop her from feeling home sick completely. So before she could call England her home, days with this kind of sadness would come. Right now Jenny was determined to focus her energy onto something else to change her mind off of those thoughts. She had plenty to take care of and one of those things was setting up everything so her mom could reach her whenever she wanted and make sure she would have no worries. That way Jenny's mind would be more at ease as well. She would also arrange for her mom to spend a week every month in England, with her and Jason and her in-laws. In-laws, it still felt weird to even think those words. Jenny blushed as these words crossed her mind and her thoughts shortly went to what Jason was doing, but before she could finish these thoughts or even start them, she heard her brothers come down the stairs.

The moment of them living together will signify the start of a new part of the story/new volume. This will be a new experience for them both and give them new challenges to face. Therefore I want to give this last part the attention it deserves. I hope you enjoy it and this Saturday I will finish the moving segment and go into their first days together at Westwood mansion. Look forward to it!
