Revived

Harry finished listening to Jason's story and there was a few minutes of silence between the two friends. Then Harry spoke up, "She said she hadn't looked at you in that way up to that point, but that isn't a full defeat. If she hasn't done that, she can start now. Make her look at you like that. The proposal might have been a bust, but it should at least have forced her to see your feelings and to think about her own. After this, she cannot say that she doesn't know your intentions and you can use all means to make her face you. Sure, it might be difficult and in the end she might still not change her answer, but I don't remember you were one to run away when things get tough. It isn't easy to find someone who is a right fit for you, so how could it be easy to win her over!" Jason's eyes grew wide. Of course. He was so focused on her rejection, but who cares that she said no now. It did not mean it would be a no forever. He hadn't even tried his hardest, so how could he accept this as their ending. "Harry my good friend, you are one in a million. I knew there was a reason we were friends!" Jason said as he jumped back up. Harry laughed at this sudden change of mood in his friend and got up from the floor as well. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. As long as you don't forget that you owe me one!" "Anything you want mate. Take five favors if you need it" Jason said as he put his arm around his friend and they left the roof together.

He never cared much for others. But Jenny set herself apart from the rest. With her honest eyes, her lack of fear for him, her genuine interest in him. How was he to find another person like her. It was just a setback. The battle might have been lost, but he hadn't lost the war. Like a little thing such as a rejection could get him down. Sure it was a solid gut punch, but that wouldn't stop him from trying again and again. It had been a long time since he was this interested in something or someone. It was exciting to challenge himself like this. This sure was a change from not caring and giving up whenever he felt like it. Everything had been so easy to obtain, maybe a challenge like this was needed for him to rediscover who he was before he gave up on the people around him and on this kind of life. Jason felt revived and he was getting more and more excited about how he was going to tackle this challenge.

Meanwhile at Westwood mansion had asked everyone present if they had seen Jason. Susan answered "No dear, I thought he was with you. Didn't you guys go for a walk?" "We did, but some things happened and he stormed off. I want to talk to him before we have to leave. Do you have any idea where he could have gone?" "No not a clue, but tell me what happened? Why did you two fight again when everything was going so great". Jenny thought a while before answering. "I am not sure if I should tell you this, so promise me you won't ask Jason any questions about this matter if I tell you what has happened". Everyone nodded their heads and agreed to pretending they didn't know. Jenny told them what had happened and the clear difference in where they stood. She also told them about what she thought the intention of this first visit was and how she wasn't even thinking about marriage for the time being and therefore never considered Jason that way either. She was busy with school, her friends and her external activities. As she was telling this, she had to repeat the story for her mother in their own language. Once she was done, she explained that she wanted to find him to at least clear the air. She did not dare look the people in the room in the eye, knowing she had disappointed them all. So she waited in silence for their words of judgement. Listening as the grand clock in the room was sounding out the thumping of her heart. Watching the time she had to find Jason, ticking away.
