Reconciliation

Two hours later Garry came to check up on Jason carefully. He had seemed in a bad mood, not even greeting him, but it was time for dinner and he didn't want his young master to go to bed without eating anything again. He had allowed it once and he refused to do it again. Since Mrs. Westwood had instructed him to get Jason to eat no matter what, he bravely came to his room. Besides, being with him since the day he was born, Jason would never really get angry at him. At the most he would be annoyed, but that he could deal with. However, when he came inside, he didn't find Jason angry, sulking or hard at work like he had expected, but to his surprise he was fast asleep. He knew that Jason hadn't been able to sleep for the past few days and wondered how he was able to sleep so peacefully today, when he noticed the jacket that he was holding with one hand and the note in the other. A soft, gentle smile came onto Garry's face. He had seen that jacket in Jenny's hands earlier today and it became clear to him that the young miss had something do with Jason being able to sleep. Even when she wasn't here, she seemed to be able to affect him.

Though he didn't want to wake Jason from such a peaceful nap, especially when he didn't know when he would be able to catch up on his much needed sleep, he couldn't let him get hungry or eat a cold dinner either. Though they could reheat the food later, it was best to eat it when it was still fresh as that is when food holds the most nutrients and flavour. So with some reluctance Garry patted Jason on his shoulder while he softly called out, "Master Jason. Master Jason." Jason woke from his deep slumber with a slight daze. In his nap he had had a sweet dream, where Jenny had returned and they were closer than ever. When Garry came to wake him, his dream translated his calling him to Jenny calling out to him. Finding it strange that Jenny was calling him "Master" he slowly woke up. However, having gotten lost in that dream, he needed some time to process that it was Garry that had woken him, not Jenny. With some disappointment he let himself fall on his back as he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes.

"What time is it?" "It is six-thirty. Dinner is ready. Mrs. Westwood asked me to call you down." Jason nodded with his eyes still closed and said, "I'll be down in a minute." After this, Garry went back downstairs and Jason fully opened his eyes. He turned to his side and saw the jacket and note. He felt a bit silly that he had held onto those items as he slept, as if they had been a treasure or as if he was a kid holding onto his "blanky", but nonetheless he was glad that they had been able to help him sleep without restraints and for that they could be considered treasures. Then he shook his head as if he had spoken those words aloud. He told himself, 'No, it was Jenny that was the treasure. She was a treasure so priceless, that even something she had touched turned into one as well.' With this high quality nap and Jenny's note, Jason felt a surge of energy and motivation. He told himself that his dream wasn't just a dream, but a premonition of what was to come.

He grabbed his phone and sent Jenny a message. 'Thank you for the note, I appreciate it, and you are welcome. I wasn't eating or sleeping well, but I will start to do so now. Stay healthy and stay safe. Hopefully till soon.' After sending that message, he headed downstairs with a smile on his face and had dinner, which finally stopped seeming flavourless. After that he headed back upstairs and started working on his company before going back to bed, returning to that warm, fuzzy dream.

Jenny who had still been at work at that time, grabbed her phone and saw the incoming message from Jason. When she opened it, she subconsciously started smiling. Something that got the attention of the young doctor and some of the other staff members close by, who were all caught off guard. They hadn't seen Jenny smile genuinely since last Friday and seeing it now was like a breath of fresh air. Making a smile appear on their faces as well as they continued with their work. Jenny felt glad that she had listen to her gut and had written Jason that note. It was slowly bringing them closer, with Jason's jacket being the first step in their reconciliation.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The rest of the weekend Jenny and Jason didn't contact each other and both busied themselves with their schoolwork and in Jason's case work for his company as well. He had a lot to catch up on and with the deadline fast approaching, he was busier than ever. Whenever he did have free time, he would think of how he could move things along with Jenny and Max, so that his dream could become reality sooner. Before they knew it, the weekend had passed by and another week of school had come.
They had another week of unseasonably nice weather and all the students at Mountforth high were making the most of it. Including Jenny, who had still been having lunch with Max and his 'girlfriend' Madeline. Where she had felt slightly awkward at first, but soon she and Madeline hit it off and by now they had become good friends. Getting along even without Max being present. Such was the case today. Halfway through the break, Max joined them as well. But the moment he did, the atmosphere changed.
