Personal cheerleader

Jenny and Jason had a wonderful date and as expected had come home quite late considering the time Jenny had to wake up the next morning. So, when that alarm clock went off, Jenny was less than amused. She quickly silenced her phone and remained in bed for a moment as she accepted that the day had begun, but also that the day of the festival had come. All there was left, were the final checks before the actual events could take place. After ten days of Jenny waking up way before him, Jason had learned to fall back asleep when he heard her alarm. By now the state he was in could barely be called 'woken up'. Though instinctively he still had the habit of pulling her back into his arms when she tried to get out of the bed, Jenny had found a way to make him let go. She found out that the price to be released of his bear like trap, was but a mere kiss. She chuckled as she watched the fast asleep guy lying next to her, with his arms around her waist and ran her fingers through his messy hair. She kissed his forehead and his tight grip loosened. At least enough for her to break his hold on her and get out of bed.

She quietly went into the bathroom and prepared for school. Once she had her uniform on and had placed Jason's sportswear on the table, she walked out the door to have a quick breakfast and head on to school. When she walked into the living room, the house was eerily quiet. That was one of the downsides to waking up so early, aside from still feeling tired when she did, was that a big house such as this one quickly felt really empty. It was still a bit dark out and there was no one there to greet her or accompany her. Making it feel more like a creepy abandoned house than the beautiful mansion that it was. It was at these moments she kept telling herself that this house had great security, a high fence, around the clock servants and that Jason was just a few feet away. Especially the first few days of waking up at five a.m. she repeated those words to herself like a mantra. By now she was quite used to it, but she couldn't say she particularly liked it either yet. She probably never would.

After making herself a quick breakfast, she headed towards the door. If she didn't have anyone to have breakfast with, it didn't matter if she ate it here or on the way. At least in the car she had the driver's company . Even though they didn't talk much, it was enough for her to have someone present. When she walked out, she saw the driver already waiting for her by the door, stifling a yawn when he saw her. She chuckled and greeted him with the brightest smile she could muster up consider the time of day. In silence they drove to Mountforth High as the driver enjoyed his music and she ate her breakfast while staring out of the window. On the way over she always did her best to rid herself of her crabbiness, which she suffered from on all early mornings, such as she had to do during the preparations for this festival. Once the building was in sight, she took a deep breath before getting out of the car. She thanked the driver and walked to the other representatives, who had already gathered in front of the school entrance. Jenny had been the last to arrive, so after she was caught up on what they had discussed, everyone went their own way to complete their given tasks.

A few hours later they were done and the other students slowly started to arrive. The class representatives went to their assigned spots, so they could gather the rest of their classmates. With almost fifteen minutes to spare before the first event, all classes were complete and were receiving instructions on the games, the schedule of the day and of course of the prize they could win should their class come up first in the school ranking. The school being as wealthy as it was, the prizes were chosen to match the standard. This year the prize was a two days, all expenses payed, boat party. With the classes being as small as they are, students would be allowed to bring one other person along as their plus one. So, everyone was eager to win and in some cases alliances were made with the promise to chose the other as their plus one. The school promoted competitiveness as the real world was filled with it, especially the world they would end up in. The sport festival, among other things, was a friendly way to get the students to work on themselves and on their abilities to make deals and connections. The festival would end with a scavenger hunt, where the winner could earn themselves an additional prize, and a bonfire to end all the competing with a friendly get together.

As an organizer Jenny was exempt for most of the events, so once she had gathered her class and had given the needed instructions, she was free to go do her own thing until it was time for her event to start or until someone needed her help. Despite being together on a date last night, they never discussed what events Jason would be participating in. Since she planned on cheering him on, she went over to where Jason's class had gathered to ask him. He was busy strategizing with the other boys from his class when Jenny tapped him on his shoulder. The sports festival was one of the few things at school Jason liked and this was clear to see when he turned around with a trace of a smile on his face.

"Jenny. What brings you here? Aren't you supposed to be with your class?"

"I was. I just came to wish you good luck and ask you what events you are going to be in so I can cheer you on later."

"I have entered the 200 meter sprint, the relay race and the basketball competition. I am a back up for the three-legged race along with Harry. I look forward to having you there as my personal cheerleader, but are you sure you aren't too tired. You can take a nap in the fields if you like."

Jenny shook her head. "I'll be fine. As long as you promise to take me as your plus one, because that party sounds amazing and my class is unlikely to win." She said with a chuckle.

Jason looked over at the rather clumsy guys in Jenny's class and the spoiled princesses by the side, who seemed unwilling to break a sweat for fear of ruining their make up. With that he looked back at Jenny. "I will take it under consideration." He said with a wink, before placing a kiss on her cheek and returning to his teammates as it was almost time for his first event.
