Peasant

In her search for Jason she ran into Garry, who informed her that he was up in their room. Without saying anything more than a thank you she ran up the stairs leading up to their room. She rushed through the door and found Jason sitting in 'her' reading corner with his laptop on his lap. When Jason saw her walk in he closed it quickly as he was working on things that she should not see, but Jenny did not find his behavior strange or suspicious at all as her head was filled with other things. First of which was the gift they had received from a most unexpected Violet who seemed to want to bury the hatchet in her own way.

"What has gotten you so excited?" Jason asked when he saw her walk in with flushed cheeks and a bright smile, showing that she clearly ran to find him. "This!" she said with a cheeky, even more beaming smile, if that was even possible. "What do you have there? Is that a present for me?" Jenny shook her head. "No, it's a present for us. Guess from who." With clear self doubt he replied questioningly, "Elizabeth's mom?" Jenny tapped the tip of her nose to let him know he had guessed right, using the rules of charade. Though he had guessed right, he remained just as confused. "Why would she give us a gift?" "Well apparently this was still a gift for our engagement and she had been reminded of it by our gift for Elizabeth's engagement. But it's clear to see that it was because she wanted to make amends for how she was behaving towards me. I don't know what your mom told her, but it proved quite effective. Not only is the animosity gone, but we even received a gift." Jenny chuckled.

After saying that Jenny moved over to the sofa to start unwrapping the mysterious gift. Knowing that the gift was from Elizabeth's mother got Jason curious as well. So, he moved over from the windowsill to join Jenny as they unwrapped the present together. Underneath the wrapping paper was a simple box, with the words 'Future Mr & Mrs.' printed on it, hiding all other details of what was inside. Once they opened the box, they saw that Violet hadn't gotten them one luxurious gift, but many small gifts to show her support of their relationship and revealing how much work she must have put into it. The box contained personalized his and her glasses with delicate etching of characteristics from the countries they were from. Unique bath salts and oils from a boutique in France that make each scent and salt by hand, making no two the same, having somehow received word that they had enjoyed a couples bath. A couple's cookbook with two connected spoons that had their initials engraved. The entire box was so personal, so thoughtful, that Jenny felt that it was worth all the harshness she had faced before and then some. Not a word was lied when Elizabeth said her mother was a great gift giver with impeccable taste. For someone who knew so little of them, she had managed to get them such a magnificent gift, putting many other to shame.

While Jenny scattered the items in a way that she could get them all into one picture to fulfill her promise to Elizabeth, Jason noticed the auction house magazine. Curious as to what Jenny would want with that, he leaned over to grab it and flipped through the pages. "Why do you have an auction magazine? Are we visiting one? Did you see something you like?" Jenny looked over and after sending the picture dropped herself back onto the the sofa. "Well, we might, but not for me. I went to see Lizzy to think of a gift for your grandfather's birthday and since there is not much time left, I was hoping she could help and indeed she did. What do you think?" Jenny grabbed the magazine from his hand and flipped to the page with the chess game. She showed Jason the gift they had found and waited to see his reaction.

"This looks great. See, I told you that you didn't need to worry and that you would do fine. That one small detail allowed you to find a perfect gift. So, why the might?" Jenny was a bit surprised that he didn't say anything about that one small yet enormous detail and it showed in her face and voice. "Did you not see the starting price?!" Jason chuckled and pressed a kiss on Jenny's forehead. "It's adorable that you think that an amount in the thousands would still impress me. The sofa you are sitting on is worth more. Last year my gift for grandfather was half a million pounds. So, in that regard this is considered a cheap gift." "Well sorry milord for not finding a person's year income 'cheap'. This peasant has yet to learn your ways and customs." Jenny replied with an imaginary curtsy. Jason laughed as he pulled her to the sofa. "Are we getting smart with me? Apparently this 'peasant' has more to learn that our ways and customs." To which Jason started tickling Jenny, something Jenny was very weak for. As she pleaded for mercy, Jason continued to torment her till they were both out of breath and Jason dropped himself onto Jenny. His body moving up and down every so slightly with each breath Jenny took.

After a short while Jenny patted his shoulder. "Get off me. You are heavy. I am trying to catch my breath here, not lose even more of it." Jason lifted himself off Jenny just enough so that his weight wasn't pressed onto her body. Still pinned under him, Jenny looked at Jason with her clear, hazel eyes. Waiting for him to 'free' her, only for him to say, "What do you need to catch your breath for, when being breathless can be so fun." Before he lowered his lips for a kiss.
