Parallel

On Jenny's side, she too hadn't had the greatest night of sleep. She was so used to Jason's embrace that she struggled to sleep without him there. After having checked in and sending Jason a message, she ordered some room service and watched some TV to distract her mind from what was going on between her and Jason. After a while she fell asleep from pure exhaustion. The next morning she woke up with her dinner plate on Jason's 'side' of the bed and looked at it with a sense of melancholy. She didn't like fighting with him, but there seemed to be no other way this time around.

When she grabbed her phone, her eyes landed on Jason's message as it was the last thing she had opened before locking her phone and throwing it to the side. She was surprised at the simpleness and calmness of his message. She though he would be mad at her for leaving in the middle of the night, but she was glad that he had accepted her decision to stay away without any fuss. After reading his words once more, she left the conversation with him and looked for Garry's contact information. Normally she would send a message to one of her in-laws. But right now she felt a bit awkward and embarrassed as she was fighting with their son and had left the house, so she contacted Garry instead. She asked him if he could send over her school uniform, some normal clothes and daily necessities.

Garry didn't know much of women's fashion and grabbed a few clothes and a clean uniform along with what he thought a girl might need. He had everything delivered by one of the staff members along with a note from him. The note said that he wished she would stay well while she was outside the house and hoped that she would return soon. Jenny felt touched by his note and opened the bag with her clothes. When she came to the school uniform she saw that it was the summer uniform he had packed along with a vest for the colder days, but no undershirt. Not wanting to bother him again, she accepted what he had prepared with gratitude. Jenny didn't let the absence of an undershirt bother her as the fabric of the shirts was of high quality and wouldn't shine through and these days the weather hadn't been too cold. She figured therefore that even without an undershirt she would be fine.

After seeing that everything she would need for the next few days was there, she decided to find something to pass the time. So, she sent a message to the girls in their group chat asking if they wanted to meet up. Jason seemed to have the same idea when he woke up later that morning and had made plans to meet up with the guys. Though both sides knew most of what had happened through Nick's story and the stories going around the hallways of school, they didn't know what had happened between Jenny and Jason. So, everyone eagerly accepted the respective invites and agreed to fill each other in afterwards.

As if the same story was playing out simultaneously on both sides, both Jenny and Jason were faced with the question, "What happened last night? Did you guys manage to make up?". Coincidentally the questions were asked by Harry and Julia, make the parallel even stronger. It was completed when both Jason and Jenny shook their heads in response. From there things took their own direction. Jenny replied with a sad smile, "No, things had become too bad for that. I left and checked into a hotel for the time being, until we are able to resolve this matter. One way or another, it has to end. So, I need to see this through. But I don't want to talk about me and Jason for now, I wanted to meet up to take my mind off of him so let's talk about something else." Though the other girls had plenty of questions, they didn't want to push Jenny. She seemed quite fragile at the moment, so they would have to swallow their curiosity for the moment and focus on being a good friend.

In Jason's case his eyes turned cold and his jaw clenched up when he shook his head. "She left yesterday. That snake has planned this out so well, he had laid out his groundwork so meticulously, has hidden his tracks so well, that she can't see his lies even when they stare her right in the face and my initial rejection of the guy isn't helping my case at the moment. Last night I saw that anything I do or say will make matters worse. So, right now I can't do anything other than wait for her to come to her senses and see him for who he truly is. Thankfully he is starting to get sloppy due to his own arrogance. He thinks he can't be caught, so he has stopped being careful and that will create a chance for me to expose him or hopefully for Jenny to catch him doing something shady herself. Once the first card falls, the rest of his house of cards will fall down as well. But I can't do anything about that situation for now, so let's stop talking and start gaming. I need to vent some of this frustration, so I can keep my calm." With that the conversation was ended on the boys side as well.

Both group of friends hung out all the way till the next morning and after enjoying a late brunch they all went their own way. Before they left, they encouraged the both of them to make up soon. But where Jenny and Jason returned to their empty abodes, the others hurried over to their significant other in hopes of finding out more than what they had on their own. However, for now the only ones who fully knew what was going on between them were Jenny and Jason themselves. The others would have to settle for bits and pieces along with conjectures and assumptions, at least for now.
