Other people's business

As soon as class was over Jenny headed for the door. She wanted to see if Julia had left by now. She was really curious about her and the entire situation, but she didn't want to make things difficult for Harry. It seemed like a sore subject for him, which she could understand. But somehow she felt like Julia wasn't such a bad girl and that there was more to the story. Jason had told her that Harry was the one who helped him when he was having a difficult time with their relationship, so maybe she could return the favor when it came to his relationship. Plus if she could help them make up, it would provide her with another girl in the group and a possible friend. She liked the guys very much, but some things required a girl friend. Since most of the people in this school had been avoiding her since day one, first because they looked down on her and then out of fear, she hadn't been able to make any friends outside of Jason's friend group. Before she had the chance to open the door to the free classroom at the end of the hall, she felt a hand holding her by the wrist. "Where are you going?" It was Jason who stopped her from going forward. "I wanted to check up on Julia. I heard her crying before. If she is still here I want to talk to her about what happened between her and Harry." "You shouldn't interfere Jen. This is between her and Harry. I know you just want to help, but you should at the very least ask Harry before you do anything. If possible I would like you to stay out of it completely. Not every relationship can be saved."

Jenny felt slightly disappointed, but knew Jason was right on one thing at least. So she followed Jason to the new class and decided to not waste any time. She waited outside the door and called Harry over to join her. Jason sighed and shook his head when he looked back and saw her standing there. There was no use stopping this stubborn woman. Once she had set her mind to something, she would not stop until she had achieved her goal. All he could do now was hope his friend didn't take it to heart and saw that she was acting out of good place. Harry looked at Jason confusedly as he walked in the direction of the door opening. Jason simply patted him on the shoulder and shook his head once more. Harry joined Jenny just outside the classroom and the eyes of the people inside followed. Jenny pulled Harry away from the classroom and stopped to speak after they had passed a corner. After checking no one was there or nearby, she started "Harry, Jason and George told me a bit about your situation with the girl we met after lunch, Julia. I understand that she is formally your fiance, but that you are currently on bad terms. So... I hope you don't mind me saying this. I have seen this girl roaming around the classroom for the past week and have been feeling her eyes on us from the first day I started school here. I wanted to ask her about her reason for doing so among other things, but Jason stopped me. He said that it was a matter between you guys and I agree. So I wanted to ask you if you would mind if I talked to her after class today. Who knows, maybe I can help patch things up between you guys? You know, as a thank you for what you did to help me and Jason out back when we were having troubles. If it weren't for your interference and help, we might have never ended up together. That shows that it is sometimes helpful to hear a story from another perspective."

Harry was utterly surprised by her question and slightly unhappy that the situation hadn't ended when he thought it did. He was surprised Jason allowed her to poke her nose in other people's business, but he had seen how weak he could be around her. Considering how recent their fight was, he probably didn't want to create more trouble and decided to let her do what she wanted. He now understood the pat on the shoulder. He was apologizing and wishing him good luck at the same time. Some friend he was. How could he refuse this request? He couldn't win in this situation. Though he wanted her to let the situation be, he felt that if he refused her now, she would bug him about it till he agreed. He couldn't even get mad at her if she did, because that would earn him the wrath of her personal bodyguard. If however he agreed and she somehow became friends with that woman, the chances of him running into her would increase. With a feeling of defeat he ended up letting out a deep sigh and said "Do whatever you want, as long as you leave me out of it". Jenny jumped up in joy and thanked Harry for giving her this chance, before focusing her thoughts on what to do now.
