No thanks needed

Hearing Jenny's questions Jason shrugged his shoulders as he calmly responded. "Why not? It's not like you have to get it right on your first try. Isn't that the good part of marrying someone like me and having this 'useless' amount of money as you've called it so often? There is no pressure of having to pay bills or tuition and such. So, even if you don't make the right choice the first time around it's okay. Take your time finding what you want and just start by what draws your interest the most at the moment. No matter what you choose I will support you." Jenny was at a complete loss for words. She had been worrying about this for so long and Jason had just solved it in a matter of seconds. Making her regret not coming to him before.

Though Jason's words sounded irresponsible, he was right. If she would go to the affiliated University, tuition would be no problem at all as her in-laws owned a majority of the shares. Even if they didn't, money had never been an issue here. She imagined that her dress collection was worth ten years of tuition to the best Universities in the country. Let alone the money Jason had spent on the jewelry and the remodeling of their rooms. If she hadn't protested then, why should she protest now when it involved something as important as her future? She had been faced with the downsides of having money, why shouldn't she look at the benefits as well. Suddenly it felt like the clouds had lifted and she could feel the sun shining down on her as her worries and doubts had been washed away. She smiled and she threw herself in Jason's arms. Something he didn't expect and made him lose his balance and fall against the sofa. But his startled expression was very quickly replaced by a chuckle and a doting expression as he patted the back of her head. "I take it that your problem has been solved?" Jenny replied with a cheerful "Uhn!" as she snuggled deeper into Jason's embrace. The next morning, Jenny woke up refreshed and determined. With her path now clear, she had found a new surge of energy.

Feeling like she had gotten a late start on matters, she researched a much as she could about the schools in the area and about studying medicine in general. The next two weeks were spent with her preparing whatever there was to prepare. Every now and then Jason would look on at her energetic searching and marking of information booklets as if they were school books with a smile, before returning his focus to his own work. When he wasn't busy with his own work and attending classes, he would accompany Jenny to bookstores for study guides and signing up for open days at the Universities. When the final two weeks before his birthday arrived and he had become as busy as he could, he was no longer able to accompany or help Jenny as much so he suggested "Jenny, why don't you ask Harry about studying medicine? He has a whole family of doctors and his family owns multiple hospitals. Who knows, you might even be able to get a the chance to shadow one of the doctors at the hospital or get a tour at one of their hospitals."

"That would be great. Why didn't I think of that? I will go see him now. You focus on your own work". Jenny knew that Jason was quite busy these days and this was his way of helping her when he couldn't. So, she took his suggestion and made work of it. So, the remaining days till his birthday she didn't bother Jason much, except for the studying after school, and instead went to Harry to ask question after question about studying medicine and about the hospitals his family owned. Since he had already made the decision to study medicine, she should make use of his knowledge and family background. She joined him on visits to the hospital and he even took her to his house to meet his parents and siblings. Allowing her to ask all the questions he wasn't able to answer. With this the remaining two weeks had passed and the last day of school before the weekend and before Jason's birthday had arrived.

As they walked the halls, on their way for lunch, Jason placed a hand on Harry's shoulder. "Thanks for helping me with Jenny these past two weeks man. I really appreciate it. I owe you one." Harry was quite surprised to hear this from Jason. With a slightly startled expression he turned towards Jason before looking back to the front. Though he never forgot the good things you did for him and would be one who would help his friends when they needed him, he had never heard him actually say the words "thanks". "Don't worry about it. There is no thanks needed among friends. You would have done the same for me. Plus, it wasn't much trouble. I just took her along to a few places I was planning on visiting anyways." Jason smiled as he heard his friend try to wave his efforts away as if it had been nothing, but his words were true. No matter how it would annoy him, if any of his friends had been in his situation, he would do the same for them without any hesitation. In response to Harry's words he patted his shoulder two times before letting go and changing the topic as they headed to the cafeteria.
