Night time date

Jenny was speechless by the help from this unexpected corner. She however couldn't just agree. Jason was already not fond of her being in the same class as him and being class representatives with him, so adding this to the list of connection she had with Max might not be the best of idea's. "Thanks for the offer, but do you mind if I think it over for a little while? I have some things to discuss and consider before I am able to accept your offer." Max had an idea of what or rather who she had to consider and discuss it with. So, with a saddened smile he accepted his fate as a person who had fallen for a person who was already taken and shook his head. "Of course not. Take however much time you need. I only meant to help. Whenever you want to make use of my offer, you know how to reach me." Jenny smiled and said, "I know. I appreciate you trying to help. I will let you know if I need it." With that the talk about the job was finished and they returned their focus back to the tasks at hand as they had very little time left and a lot more to do.

In the following days, Jenny and Max, along with the other class representatives, continued to prepare for the sports festival and things were finally coming together. They were putting on the final touches after today's classes, when Jason came to pick Jenny up at school. Nobody had seemed to notice his arrival and he was fine with it being unnoticed. it gave him a chance to be a spectator instead of being the person who was usually watched by others as one who lived in the spotlights. He stood by the side of the field where they were setting up, hidden in a corner by the trees as he watched Jenny being hard at work, waiting for her to be done. He saw her serious expressions, he watched as her perfectionism got the best of her when she straightened signs and corrected how some things were placed. He even got to witness her bossy side as she ordered the others about to make sure that everything looked perfect and was ready for tomorrow's big event.

When the final banner was hung in place, the group commended each other for their hard work these past days and they said their goodbyes. Jenny turned to grab her stuff from one of the tables, so she could get ready to leave. It was at this moment she noticed a familiar car out on the driveway. He watched her as she looked around and saw the look on her face as she spot him. He gave her a little wave and Jenny ran to him with her bag and jacket in her hand. She dropped them both when she was close enough to jump and threw herself in his arms. He wrapped his arms around her and spun Jenny around before gently lowering her to the ground. "What are you doing here?" she asked when she had finally let go of Jason's neck. "I came to get you silly. It is your final day of preparing, so I thought I should come pick you up and we can go get an ice cream or something on our way back. We are long overdue on some time with just the two of us, don't you think." Jenny said nothing, but simply nodded her head with a big smile on her face as an "Uhn" sound was made.

Max, who had been right behind Jenny when they finished up, had to witness this happy scene between the two of them. He watched as Jenny threw herself in Jason's arms and the happy expression that was on her face. Any other man would feel complete and utter defeat, enough to make them want to give up, but he swallowed the pain away. He had wanted to ask Jenny for a drink or a snack to celebrate the wrapping up of the preparations, but had gotten a rejection before he had gotten the chance to even ask. After looking at that scene for a few seconds, he let out a sigh and turned around. With a dejected expression and a pained heart he walked off on his own as accepted another night of defeat while looking forward to the day that what he witnessed could be his.

At the same time Jenny and Jason walked in the other direction hand in hand, to the car parked a few feet away. The car that would bring them to their little night time date. The first one in long time. Now that she only had one final day of waking up early and would be free after that, Jenny did not mind a bit of a lack of sleep. Lucky for her, the organizers didn't have to participate in most of the events, so she could always use some of that time to catch up on lost sleep. If that was the price to pay for spending some time with Jason she would gladly pay it. She had been missing him plenty by now and she also felt a bit guilty for not spending any time with him for the past ten days. She also needed to find the time to discuss the matter of her getting a job, but that would have to wait until after the weekend. For now she only had three things she wanted to put time and energy in, which was her date right now, the sports festival tomorrow and Elizabeth's engagement this weekend! All in all her busy times weren't over yet, but the fun times had finally started. Now she could enjoy some of the fruits of her hard labour. Starting with a nice refreshing ice cream with her very own prince charming.
