My most trusted council

In a matter of minutes Jenny was dressed and ready to meet up with her friends. As she entered the park she saw three young woman, barely awake in unmatching clothes and waiting for the "guest of honour". None of them were early birds and this being the first day of the weekend, they were not prepared for an early get together. One of them spotted her and yelled "RUN! Don't you think you have kept us waiting long enough. Anymore and I will have to start charging you.", said her friend Kelly. Jenny giggled and started a to run towards her friends.

"Thanks girls, for meeting me so suddenly. I have something important to discuss with you and really need your help in making a final decision. This could be life changing!". After such an introduction her friends became wide awake. What could have possibly happened since yesterday afternoon when they last saw each other. "Are you ready to be shocked?" Jenny asked teasingly. Even with her sharp deadline and all her worries, she still had the mind to joke around. "Spill the beans already! Stop making us wait so long. I am dying of curiosity and worry!". Said her most dramatic and longest friend, Kim.

After laughing at her friends reaction, she turned back serious and told her friends for the first time about the lady she had met a few days ago. She told them what this woman had said and done, and most importantly what she had suggested! Her friends could not believe what they just heard. Their friend, who had never had a boyfriend in her life, was proposed to and could be meeting her husband to be in a few hours. Not only that, but she was proposed to by the mother of the guy?! It wasn't that Jenny wasn't popular, but she had never paid any attention to guys. She was always focused on her school, her after school activities, her friends and of course her mother. Boys would have to wait till she had time and was ready. After all, it was a secret to no one that Jenny was a late bloomer in that department. She had grown up with three brothers, who had treated her with a mix of "precious little sister" and "one of the guys". So for the bigger part of her life she had treated boys as nothing more than friends. Regardless of their looks and their many advances.

After the initial shock of what they had heard had settled, her most quiet friend Linda spoke up. "Are you really considering going? What made you change your mind? You have never been interested in any of the guys who tried to be anything more than friends with you, what makes you think this guy would be different? And can you get along with a mother-in-law like that? She managed to offend you in such a short time, what will a few decades do with your relationship?" Near the end she sounded even more anxious than Jenny felt. No one expected her to have such a strong reaction. She was always the calm type, the one who made you see the positive in every situation. "I can't really explain it. It was something that my mother said that stuck with me. I mean this situation is so absurd, if this isn't a sign of fate being involved I don't know what is!" Jenny exclaimed. And this was truly how she felt. Her mother was right. What would she have to lose. It was just a meeting. But with this meeting she had everything to gain. A life of comfort, a in-law's who loved her the moment they had met her and possibly the man of her dreams.

"Trust me, I haven't been able to sleep all night, because I was up thinking about what to do. You see, they are leaving today. In fact, their flight leaves in a few hours. The only thing I am afraid of is that I got too influenced by what my mom said and that it has clouded my judgement. That is why I wanted to hear the opinion of my most trusted council, so that I can make a final decision. So don't try to spare me or my feelings and tell me your most honest answer." Jenny looked anxiously towards her friends, hoping they could give her that final push or allow her to hit the breaks on this whole deal.
