My baby having babies

The next morning the moment of the reveal was finally there. Jenny and Jason were still in bed when they heard a loud, high-pitched shriek. Susan's excitement at finding out that she was about to become a grandmother had reached all the way to the second floor where Jenny and Jason were resting up after yesterday's event and the grand finale. When Jenny and Jason came downstairs, still wearing their robes, Susan dashed over and hugged the both of them. Still talking loudly and cheerfully as she could not yet contain her excitement.

"I can't believe the time for me to be a grandmother has come so soon! You two have made me so incredibly happy." After that she said, "Show me your belly dear." When Jenny complied to her request, she gasped and said, "Oh Stephen, look at that precious little baby bump." As she stroked Jenny's stomach as if it was the most delicate and precious thing she had ever laid eyes upon. Then again, that which laid underneath what was visible, might very well be considered those exact two things. She turned towards Stephen with a big smile as she continued on, "That is where our grandchild is waiting till its his or her time to come out and I for one can't wait. I am already looking forward to the pitter patter of small feet running around here and calling me grandma. Don't you agree Stephen?"

He nodded with a smile on his face in reaction to Susan's question. Stephen, though equally happy, was a more calm natured person and walked over to put a hand on Jason's shoulder, giving it a tight squeeze to express his proudness. Jenny got a loving stroke of the head and a soft kiss on top of it. Before he pulled himself away, partially for fear of invoking Jason's jealousy that knew no exceptions, he whispered to Jenny "Well done dear. I am sure you will be a great mother. Let us hope you have a daughter in there, because a son I fear will not be exempt from Jason's jealous ways and will have a tough time because of it." When Jenny looked up to look at her father-in-law, he gave her a wink and both of them laughed. Earning them curious stares from the two people that had not been included in their little private joke, which had a good deal of truth to it.

Susan did not let it bother her and continued to be absorbed in her excitement. She was still chattering on when Jenny's phone rang. It was her mother, who apparently had deciphered the message as well and had video-called to congratulate the two on their upcoming parenthood and her own grandparenthood. Where Susan had been overly excited, Mary had become very nostalgic and emotional by the news. "My dear son and daughter, is it true? Have I received the first picture of my future grandchild? Is my baby having babies of her own?" All that Jenny had to do was nod her head 'Yes' to cause Mary to let a flood of information, advise and concerns loose.

"Oh, how fast the time has gone. I can still remember the day when I found out that I had you in my womb and the day I first laid eyes upon you. Now you are all grown and about to be a mother yourself. I am so happy for you my dear, sweet daughter." Mary was alternating her addresses between Jason and Jenny as she spoke. Telling each what she thought concerned them, even though they were both present for the same call. "Pregnancy can be quite hard on the body of a woman, so make sure you look out for her dear Jason. She might have some mood swings or odd cravings but she is carrying your child. So, keep that in mind as you bear with them." Another switch was made as her eyes turned a bit sad, "Though I am a bit sad to not be by your side to help you with all that awaits you, I am confident that your mother-in-law will do a fine job in my stead and I will make sure to visit you as often as I can in between. Make sure you eat well, sleep well and not worry needlessly. Remember, everything you do and experience, affects the baby as well."

Jenny and Jason didn't need to say a single word as Mary kept the conversation going all on her own. Seemingly not loosing any fuel as she let everything she could think of out during this one call. "Jason, you must shield her from things that could make her get upset and make sure she doesn't overwork herself. She tends to be stubborn. Sadly a quality she has inherited from me out of all the ones to choose from." Though Jason did not nearly understand all that she was saying, his understanding of Jenny's mother tongue had improved greatly over the years. Making communicating between mother- and son-in-law a lot easier. If Jenny noticed any difficult words or thought that Jason might not have understood her mother's words, she would whisper the translation softly in his direction in order to not disturb her mother's talk. When she seemed to have gotten most of it off her chest, Jenny let her in on another piece of information she had kept from her mother until now.
