Move to England

By now Jason was barely seated on the couch. Only an inch of his body seemed to be touching the seat, while the rest was hovering above the floor as he waited in anticipation while hiding his excitement. Jenny continued. "I have to add that I might not be as far along as you, but there is no denying that there is something there. So I want to take our relationship to the next level and I have decided that when I go back to the Netherlands this Saturday, I am going back to pack my bags so I can move to England..." Jason could not believe what he had just heard. He blinked a few times to make sure he wasn't dreaming. Did she really just say she had feelings for him? And on top of that, had she just said she was going to move to England? Not at the end of the term as they had discussed, but right now. Did he really succeed? Did he just make her his woman? He jumped out of his seat and lifted Jenny from hers. He spun her around in a princess carry. He couldn't be more happy. He had finally succeeded. All his efforts had payed out! Jenny was startled by Jason's sudden actions, but let him be. She had put him through a lot, it was fine for him to celebrate a little. She folded her arms around his neck and back and kept herself from falling. While looking at his happy expression, she was thinking back on all that had happened. If either one of them had decided to give up on any of the turning points, they would have lost each other and their chance of happiness together. She was glad Jason wasn't a quitter and picked himself up time and time again along their way to becoming a couple. She couldn't wait to see what life would bring them and what awaited their journey together.

Now that it was clear their feelings were mutual, it was time for them to define the relationship they were in. They had made this mistake before, they weren't going to let a misunderstanding ruin what they had now. Before anymore talking could commence, it was time for Jenny to get something to eat. It was 11 PM and she was starving. Till now she had too much on her mind to be thinking about food, but now that the big talk was over, he stomach came knocking. When she opened the fridge, she saw a plate of her favorite spaghetti and felt a rush of warmth coursing through her body. Her feelings were reaffirmed. She was certain she had picked a good man! He knew how to look past her fierceness and was able to spoil her rotten. Something she would never admit to liking. Who knew, she would not like the material things in life, but she loved being spoiled in this manner. A way that showed the other person knew her and loved her. This simple gesture brought her more happiness any fancy gift ever could.

Once she had warmed up her plate, it was time for them to figure out their plan and clear up any possible misunderstandings. Jenny was given the floor first. As Jenny was enjoying her meal, she let Jason in on a few of her worries. "Well let me start by saying, Jordan sparks said it best when she said "I'm about to give you my heart, but remember this one thing. I've never been in love before, so you gotta go easy on me". Though I have made my decision to enter in a romantic relationship with you, it does not mean that I am not still a bit scared. I might try to run to protect myself. I hope that in those times, you will chase me and not give up. Just like you have done in these past months." Jenny said laughingly." We should try our best to grow together, but people don't change in a day. Neither should we expect them to. It will only result in disappointment. We should try and be patient. Let things progress naturally."

"I guess it is safe to say that this "we" in this story is you?" Jason responded with a bit of a laughter hidden in his voice. I know that I push you out of your comfort-zone sometimes, but it does not mean I do not respect your wishes. I am glad you are willing to take this leap of faith with me and I will make damn sure I don't mess it up. I don't mind having to chase you every once in a while" Jason said with a wink. "My main question has to be, are we engaged or not? We ended the first visit with a proposal gone wrong, but I stand by what I said back then. But I can imagine if you aren't ready for something like that just yet..."

Jenny hesitated a bit before answering "I have to say I don't really know. On the one hand we are going into this relationship with the intention of marriage and being engaged is what symbolizes that, but on the other hand being engaged holds a lot of weight to it. Combined with me having to move and changing schools, I don't know if adding a ring to the mix will scare me. Plus, do we really want to tell our future children that proposal story" Jenny said jokingly. Little did she know that this lit a fire inside Jason's mind. They ended the night with Jason's question still unanswered, but he did not mind. After all, he knew just what to do. He had started becoming the king of surprises and he wasn't ready to give that self proclaimed title up yet!
