Mess with a wolf

Hearing Jenny's confident words and seeing the arrogant expression on her face, Jason said, "Watch it missy. Before I show you the fight I haven't given up." Before biting the side of her face softly.

"Auch. What are you biting me for wolf boy?" Jenny asked as she pushed him away.

"You mess with the bull; you get the horns. You mess with a wolf; you get the fangs." Jason replied playfully.

Jenny's eyes turned soft as she placed a hand on the side of Jason's face and said, "Hmm, in that case I should pay the price, to appease the wolf once more." After that she turned her face slightly as she closed her eyes and placed a kiss on Jason's lips. It was a short soft kiss after which she let go and opened her eyes again, only for Jason to pull her back in so they could share a "proper" kiss while overlooking the beautiful garden from the high window. After spending some time with just the two of them, Jenny patted his arms and said "Let's go. It is time to go downstairs. Your parents should already be waiting for us." Jason let out a small sigh as he said "Yeah, you're right." With that they got up and went downstairs to join Susan and Stephen.

Once they got down to the living room, Susan and Stephen had already been waiting for them as they had snuggled up on the couch together. "You guys are just in time. I was about to start the first episode from where we left off." Stephen said as he saw the both of them walk in. The reason they were waiting for Jason and Jenny was that they had started watching a drama as a family and tomorrow another episode would be released. They had been having this joined activity for almost six weeks when Jenny and Jason went to the Netherlands. The four of them had agreed to not watch the episodes online while Jason and Jenny were away. Instead they would use the day before the release of the next episode in the week of their return, as the day to catch up on the episodes that had aired during their absence.

Jenny and Jason took their place on the smaller vertically placed sofa, where Jason would sit down with his legs stretched out first and Jenny would sit in between his legs and use Jason as a backrest while he wrapped his arms around her. That way she could steal some of his body warmth as the evenings tended to be a bit more chilly and Jason didn't get cold very easily. Being together as long as they were by now, Jenny had stopped feeling awkward when being in a position like this with Jason around her in-laws. She had learned to be okay with a level of affection like this. Though she would feel a bit aware of her surroundings during the first few seconds, that feeling would fade once the show had started and she got absorbed in the story on the screen instead of her own. Besides, with them being unable to be close much during their stay in the Netherlands, she could use a relaxing moment like this after getting back. Susan and Stephen not holding back on their affections, also helped Jenny to not be so reserved.

Spending a leisure night on the couch was just what all of them had needed. Susan and Stephen had been terribly busy the past weeks and Jenny and Jason needed that rest for other reasons. After binge watching all the missed episodes, they went to bed feeling content. It was late at night when they were done, making sure everyone would fall asleep the moment they would land in their beds. Jenny and Jason entered the bathroom through the door on the other side as to not wake the little angel sleeping in their bed. After getting ready for bed, Jenny gently opened the door to the bedroom and the walked to the bed on their tip toes. James was still fast asleep, his little body moving up and down with each breath he was taking. Jenny and Jason got under the covers on each side of the little boy and had to accept that they wouldn't be able to sleep in each other's embrace for tonight. Instead they laid on their sides and each placed a hand on top of the covers. Their hands met where James was lying, and their fingers intertwined as they looked each other in the eyes. They smiled at each other gently before closing their eyes and falling asleep.

The next morning, they were woken early by James, who had gone to bed early. Like most children his age their internal clock was set to follow the saying 'Early to bed and early to rise'. Though he was much more well behaved than what he had shown yesterday and hadn't done anything in particular to wake them, Jason was usually a quite guarded person and could feel the boy staring at him and Jenny alternatingly, making him wake up. "You up already little squirt." James had managed to bond a bit with Jason after yesterday and their little heart to heart. With clear, big eyes, he looked Jason in the eyes as he was lying on his side as well and instead of attacking Jason for his choice of words, the boy responded with a soft "Uhn" and a nod of the head. "Why are you moving around so much?" "I wanted to see if you or sister had already woken up or not. I have been awake for a while now and I got bored." Jason let out a soft chuckle at the boy's honest words and ruffled his hairs. Just as he was about to get up from the bed to bring James downstairs so that they wouldn't wake Jenny, he could hear a grumbling noise from the other side of the bed, making his kind gesture too little, too late.
