Like snow must be black...

As Jenny looked at the three women, who were ranging in age from early thirties to late forties, she was again forced to listen to their taunting insults.

"I guess it is true what they say the devil."

"I hope you didn't mind our little chat dear, after all it was nothing but the truth right?"

"Oh will you look at that, is she trying to ignore us or glare at us? As if being a hick wasn't bad enough, we managed to get the hick who doesn't know her place, nor how to show respect to her elders."

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Well, what can you expect from the kind of poor upbrining she must have had. We should be happy that she came to this party wearing a dress instead of overalls."

"Yes, but that is not much to celebrate now is it because you do know what they say about a pig wearing pearls, right?"

At that the three of them started letting out their shrieking laughs. The sound seeping into Jenny's bones and making her hairs stand up. Jenny took a deep sigh. There was no winning with these people. She thought she would leave quietly instead of making a fuss here as she didn't want to create any trouble at grandfather's party, but it seemed she was left no choice. She wouldn't be able to leave this bathroom unscathed as these ruthless people wouldn't let her off without stomping her to the ground with their branded eight inch heels. Finding fault with her no matter what. So, if lying low wouldn't do the trick, maybe putting them in their place would.

Jenny showed a taunting smile mixed with sneer on her face as she said, "Well, if this is what good upbringing looks like, then I suppose you are right and I was brought up poorly. Just like snow must be black and fire doesn't burn. As for respecting my elders, I already showed my respect to the ones that deserved it. I saw no one here that showed the mannerisms of an elder nor anyone that showed behavior that could be respected, so I apologize for not recognizing who you are. I suppose I expected more from a relative of the Westwood family, but perhaps my parents-in-law have set that bar too high. Then again it could also be that as a 'hick' who doesn't know HER place, it should be expected that I wouldn't know YOUR places either, respected aunts."

She placed an emphasis on the last two words with a condescending tone and with her head held high she walked out of the bathroom. Finally experiencing first hand the kind of ridicule and verbal abuse Jason must have suffered during his years in the Westwood family, she developed an even stronger understanding. She was hurt by their words when she was almost an adult, he had to face that as a small child, from people he thought he could trust and were his own family members along with physical abuse as well. Jenny returned to the table, thinking she would tell Jason what had happened later to prevent any more trouble, but he saw that something was wrong right away. Though she didn't get into any detail when he asked her what had happened, she simply said with a cold gleam over her eyes, "I met your aunts." Jason had spent enough time with them, to know instantly what had happened in his absence and his expression grew cold to match hers.

Without letting anyone at the table suspect what he had planned, he walked over to the group of three casually and under the pretense of having a chat, gave them a threat they would remember. "Hello dear aunts. It seems you are having quite an eventful evening. Since you are so worried about your future, enough to want to meddle into mine, let me ensure you that when I take over the reigns at Westwood empire, I'll be sure to repay the favour you did my lovely fiance today. As I turn your futures into something even worse than you are currently imagining. When you don't appreciate what you have and try to steal what belongs to others, you should be careful not to get caught as that might make you lose everything. Including that one bird you had in your hand for the two that might be in the bush."

His aunts reacted with shock and disdain at first, cursing Jenny for ratting them out, but when they saw that Jason had meant what he had said and was about to walk away, their tune suddenly changed.

"Oh come on Jason dear, don't be like that. We were just kidding. Don't tell me she didn't get that we were just joking. Where is her sense of humour?"

Jason stopped in his movement to hear what else they were going to say and how much they were willing to embarrass themselves to make up for the words they had probably said to Jenny. With a threatening glare he turned his head to look at the anxious women and said. "Are you insulting her?"

Fear came into their eyes instantly and with shaking voices they tried to fix the mess they had once so arrogantly caused.

"No, no, of course not. We wouldn't dare. In fact, we will go apologize to dear ...?"

"Jenny." Jason filled in for them.

"Yes, yes, we will apologize to dear Jenny and solve this little misunderstanding right away."

Assuming them lowering their heads would be a more satisfying payback for Jenny than what he had originally planned, he decided to play along.

Here we are with today's chapter. I got a lot done on tomorrows chapter as well, so that should come out earlier than today. I hope you enjoy as payback has been set into motion.

My thanks today goes to Titania23 for her support in the comment section :D
