Like a natural

After Jason had sent the information to his father, he asked Jason where he had gotten the information from, but Jason had no intention of telling his father that. He replied, 'It doesn't matter where I got it from, what matters is that I got it and what you plan on doing with the information.' Stephen knew his son well enough to know that if he wanted to hide something he would and that if he wanted to keep something a secret, he had good reason to do so. So, he let the matter drop and replied Jason's message with, 'Very well. You have done well. Rest assured that I will handle the matter and that I will take the proper course of action. No one cheats while trading with the Westwoods' Jason smiled subconsciously after he read what his father had sent and put his phone away afterwards before making his way upstairs as well. While walking the stairs he spoke out loud to himself and said, "You shouldn't wake a sleeping tiger, but no one said anything about hugging one."

When he entered their room he grabbed the book he was reading and changed into something more comfortable. He headed into the bathroom and prepared for bed. Jason felt that their time together was too short and since he didn't feel like sleeping yet, he had decided to read his book while holding the sleeping Jenny in bed. Once he had brushed his teeth he took his book to the bedroom where Jenny had already been sleeping. Though Jenny was sensitive to light and would probably be woken up by Jason if he were to turn on the bedside lamp, especially because she was light asleep at the moment. When she was deep asleep and the lights were already on when she slept, it didn't bother as much.

With that in mind, he had it all figured out. Using the light from his cellphone, he got into the bed and placed his book down on the bedside table. After getting settled in, he stroked Jenny's hair gently and lifted her head to place her on his lap. He grabbed his book and turned on the lamp. Jenny's closed eyes twitched for a moment, but before she knew it, he had placed a hand to cover her eyes from the light and her expression eased up again. Seeing her body relax and feeling confident that she was back asleep, he opened his book one handed and read as he shielded her from the brightness. When he had waited for a while, slowly started lifting his hand to stroke her hair and pat her thigh over the blanket, as if coaxing a child back to sleep. These methods proved useful to keep someone comfortably asleep as well, because Jenny didn't wake at all and seemed as comfortable as ever during the entire time up to when Jason had decided it was time for him to go to bed as well.

The next few days both Jenny's and Jason's plans had been put into motion and slowly they were yielding results. In Jenny's case she had the doctor and the nurses in awe. To everyone's surprise, including the stubborn doctor, Jenny was improving at a rapid speed and by day three she was walking around like a natural, making him fear that the deal he had made so cockily would be one that he would lose badly. Though he wasn't sure yet if he thought it was a good thing that he was about to lose or a bad thing, he knew that he couldn't keep his eyes off this hard working little thing. Where he had disliked her greatly at the beginning, the more time he spent with her, the more he felt that maybe it wouldn't be so bad if she did show up on Monday.

The reason she appeared like a natural was because in such a short amount of time Jenny had gone from a hopeless puppy walking around with no direction, running around to keep up and making a mess of things, to a reliable German shepherd. She was taking the notes effortlessly no matter how fast the doctor was talking and writing clear, easy to understand instructions for the nurses. She had even learned to combine her tasks with socializing with the residents and doing things outside her work description to help ease the workload of the nurses. Her plan was to know all residents by name by the end of the week and for that she asked if she could take their temperatures and blood pressure. This way she could get to know them by chatting with them while still making herself useful. She figured that learning fifty names in a short period of time would be a lot easier if she would get to know the person behind the name. That way she could find something to remember them by. With that, little by little, she was going from bad to good to great! Making it impossible for the doctor to look down on her or critique her work.

In Jason's case, his father had dropped the shares from Max's family business after receiving Jason's information and to punish them, he had done so in large quantities at a time to make sure it would be a blow to remember. Though it wouldn't bankrupt them, it would damage them severely and once the Westwoods dropped you, others would soon follow. With their reputation in the business world whatever they jumped on board to would turn into gold and whoever they dropped or shunned would soon crumble. So, long lasting damage was guaranteed, but at least he hadn't reported them to the authorities. Whatever the blow now may be, with a solid alliance, hard work and time, they would be able to recover from this. But if the authorities became involved, then their future in the trading world would be over and Max's father would be facing jail time for his actions in the business world. So, even from Stephen they had gotten a certain form of mercy, though with the troubles they were facing, they might not be able to see that right now...
