Late-night antics

As Jenny had Jason's attention, who was still looking at her as if he was ready to devour her, she continued, "It's past two in the morning and Charlie is right there..." Without breaking eye contact Jason said, "I know. That is why I tried to hold myself back but now that you are awake I no longer see the point." Before locking his lips again with Jenny's and answering to the desires that had filled his mind, while trying to be as quiet as he could be in order to not wake Charlie. Solely guided by instincts and memory, he answered nature's call in the dark of the night. Though he had no desire to stop after getting his way once, Jenny had no intention to participate and was persistant in her refusal. Forcing Jason to make due with releasing just a part of the steam that had built up in his body but it was enough to allow him to sleep peacefully next to Jenny without his hands wandering on their own.

The next morning they were woken bright and early by Charlie, who unlike his parents had gone to bed on time and had slept plenty of hours by now. With groans and grumbles, they tried to open their eyes at which neither of them was succeeded upon their first attempt. Feeling that Jason was responsible for a big part of her tiredness, Jenny said to him while she was struggling to get up, "Since you had so much excess energy last night that you didn't get to use, you can get up and take care of our son. I am pooped after your late night antics."

Despite his tiredness, Jason couldn't help but laugh from amusement at Jenny's comment. Feeling that it was worth his current state of sleep deprivation. With a forced exhale from his nostrils, as he rubbed over his face with both hands, Jason forced himself out of the bed and walked over to the crib-like construction. "Good morning little rascal", he said as he greeted Charlie and lifted him up to join his mother and father on the big bed. Jason placed him down on the Queen sized bed, next to the still struggling Jenny, before walking over to the water cooker. While Charlie attempted to get his mother to open her eyes by patting and stroking her face and lifting her eyelids gently to reveal her eyes, Jason was busy preparing some formula for their little man. Something they would use from time to time when Jenny wasn't available or fit to breastfeed him. After he handed Charlie the bottle, who could now drink on his own, Jason dropped himself back on the messy sheets face first and closed his eyes once more.

Under the curious stares of little Charlie, who could not understand his parents' tiredness, Jenny and Jason did their best to catch a bit more sleep. Taking turns into giving Charlie something that he could entertain himself with until they felt that it was really time to start getting up, this being when they started hearing their stomachs protest. After Jenny finished in the bathroom and was ready to join Jason at the table in their room in order to start eating her breakfast as wel, but she first repeatedly kissed Charlie's chubby cheeks who was sitting at the table in a high chair. He had started eating some fruits that Jason had peeled and cut for him, while his caregiver waited until Jenny was ready to join them before starting his own breakfast

Just as she was about to sit down after showing Charlie some well deserved affection, Jason protested. "Hey, where is my kiss. I did a lot more than this little drool monster and I even waited for you to eat together." Jenny snickered before she replied, "I think you got plenty at the start of the this day, before the sun had even come up. If you ever manage to become as cute as my darling Charlie I will be sure to shower you with kisses every chance I get." As she said this, she was already looking away and was busy squishing Charlie's face as she was holding back the urge to take a bite out of the little chubby-cheeked thing that was her son. Charlie continued to eat his fruit unperturbed while this was going on, making his cheeks look even bigger like a chipmunk with a walnut in his mouth.

Jason replied with a 'Chè' before lifting himself up from his seat, leaning over the table and grabbing Jenny's chin. With just two fingers he stole her attention away from Charlie as he turned her face towards his and claimed what he had been denied. This kiss had caught Jenny by surprise as was clear from her widened eyes. She cleared her throat and straightened back into her own seat, nervously avoiding eye contact as she placed her napkin in her lap. Even being silenced for a moment by his sudden action. She felt her stomach twist and turn from a sudden surge of butterflies from his unexpected kiss and her cheeks flushed just as brightly as Charlie's naturally rosy ones. Jenny herself couldn't explain how this far along in their relationship a simple kiss could get her so flustered but both of them were happy that such a simple action could invoke a reaction like that. Because it meant that she was still just that much in love with him. A thought that pleased both and reassured one.
