Just embrace it!

Jenny continued her excited chatter after Jason's surprise date invitation. As she said, "I can't wait for Friday to get here." she grabbed her phone to see what she had missed. Jason's expression had relaxed soon after he heard Jenny's reaction to his pans. He quickly made the second part of his confession before Jenny had the chance to read the exchange between him and their friends. He couldn't have her changing her mind or getting upset at him just seconds after agreeing with his plans. "Before you read those messages I want to tell you that I am glad you agree with me that using the day to have it both ways is wonderful way to spend the day. So you should keep those feelings in mind and not get upset with me for rejecting the group's suggestion of meeting up earlier in the day without letting you know about it."

Jenny narrowed her eyes as she turned her head back to look at him. With her face screaming 'Really?!' she said through clenched teeth "What a daring move Mr. Westwood. You are in luck that it was for something sweet otherwise you would not have fared well after making my decisions for me like that." Jason grinned and pulled Jenny in for a hug from behind, making her lose her balance in the process and falling backwards into his hug. "You know you love me. Why waste your time and energy acting like you don't. Or pretending like you could ever hate me or hurt me."

Hearing Jason's confidence in stating these words combined with him pressing his face against hers in his tight, loving, hug, Jenny could no longer keep the strict expression on her face. Bursting out in laughter to which Jason responded with, "See? I told you so. Just embrace it. Better yet, embrace me!" Jenny shook her head as she continued to chuckle and accepted Jason's claims as the truth as she leaned her body properly against his and got comfortable. Like that the last person had agreed to the plan for Friday and the plans were set. With everyone involved having something to look forward to, it promised to be a very successful day and a day off to remember.

Soon the days in between then and the Friday in question had passed and it was the day of their get together. Jenny and Jason had enjoyed a fun day together, where they went to see a movie, went on a walk together through a nearby park and indulged in some unnecessary shopping. Buying nothing for themselves but Jenny being unable to resist buying a few things for Charlie, among which was a romper with the line 'I don't slay dragons, just a good night's rest'. The line was accompanied by an image of a baby wearing a metal helmet, like the ones worn with a harness in the middle ages. The baby was crawling with a sword towards the hourglass of the sandman who is scattering sleeping dust on a sleeping couple blowing out Z-z-z's. He was ready to cut the glass and with that cut his parents' night short, while the dragon on the other side of the romper is left undisturbed and is not considered a threat of any kind. Jenny was so amused by this as it hit so close to home for most new parents that she felt she had to have it.

Once everything was done and there was nothing left they wanted to do, they walked towards the place where they had agreed to meet up for dinner and drinks. The two of them arrived almost thirty minutes before the time of their dinner reservation and just in time to join the early birds for some pre-fun before the others would arrive. Giving the group that wanted to meet earlier partially their way in an unexpected way. When Elizabeth saw them she teasingly said to Jason, "Couldn't get her to spend those last thirty minutes with you as well, hmm? Too bad. You must be losing the power of your charm Mr. Westwood. You can't even get your own wife to spend the entire day with you alone, without her rushing to the next appointment and arriving thirty minutes too early when you used to be able to make any girl even forget the existence of time let alone lose track of it."

Jason narrowed his eyes as he glared at her coldly, while Jenny chuckled at her friend's joke. She gave Jason a sideways hug as she attempted to defend him by saying, "Oh stop. My husband is very charming. It is just that he already has me, so there is no need for him to use the full power of his charms on me. Plus, he is very thoughtful and he was probably feeling bad for saying no to you guys and the meeting up earlier, so subconsciously he wanted to make it up to you by giving us these thirty extra minutes."

Jason's expression turned from sour to shine in just seconds. After returning Jenny's sideways hug he said with an arrogant expression, "There you have it. I am just a better person, partner and friend than you are. There is nothing I am losing, I am only gaining more and more admirable qualities." This caused all of them to laugh as they patted on the empty seats near them, indicating for the two of them to sit down as well and join their pre-party.
