Including him in the fun

Despite Jason's absence, everyone was enjoying themselves fully. It started with a cheerful flight, where different groups had been formed and had started playing card games and different board games. Bringing out the competitive side of everyone, be it playing singles or doubles, with or against their spouse, parent or child. From time to time Jenny would be taking a picture or making a video to send to Jason. Including him in the fun whichever way she could. Though documenting their outings was normally Julia's task, as she was the one who knew how to take the best pictures and Sophia acting as her stand in when she was unable, but with her partner absent, Jenny didn't mind taking this task upon herself for this part of the trip. She would be taking these anyways for Jason's sake. So, there was no harm in taking it a bit further and taking some proper pictures to document their trip.

The fun and picture-taking continued as they entered the hotel and were shown to their rooms. A room she for now would be sharing with her mother instead of moving into her and Jason's room. Soon after packing, the gang met up to start exploring the neighbourhood and the parents went on to have their own fun. Only Elizabeth and Jenny sat the first part out. Elizabeth, though not as easily tired as before, had become quite tired after their hectic morning and long flight, during which she might have been a tad too active. But for neither of them was it very feasible to be walking around for a longer period of time with a pregnant belly of six and seven months. So, Elizabeth opted to wait for the others to return with the other pregnant lady of their company, allowing Nick to join the others on their outing. The two of them would enjoy a relaxing drink by the poolside, while reading a book and having a chat. Though the former wasn't given much attention with the latter being an available option.

The days continued with the party hanging out together or separately in different compositions. During which, Jenny of course made sure to take plenty of evidence of their fun for Jason. With each message and picture, Jason who was supposed to be hard at work in order to join them as soon as possible, was distracted and amused. Letting out an involuntary smile or chuckle. Even during meetings, where he couldn't resist responding to the blinking light on the corner of his phone. It was as if his hands moved on their own, disregarding any complaints his head or heart might have on the matter. Accomplishing Jenny's goals, who didn't want him to only be busy with work just because he and Stephen couldn't be missed from the office at the same time for multiple days on end.

With neither his parents or Jenny being at home, Jason didn't mind staying at the office until the late hours to finish his work or to work ahead in order to unburden Stephen after he would take the baton from him in their little relay race without any apparent finish. Jenny suspected Jason doing as much, as she was usually the one causing him to return home on time. Either by him fearing that she would be having her dinner too late without him there or because he would start missing her on his own. Especially with Jenny being pregnant, he tried to spend as much time at home as possible during the hours that Jenny was there as well. So, to make sure he wouldn't be pushing himself during her absence, aside from sending him pictures and updates, she would call him when she felt it was time for him to call it a day. She did so by making her calls in the form of a video call and continued to keep him on the line till he had finished up whatever he was actually or supposedly still working on. She would talk to Jason all the way until he had returned home, ensuring herself of him stopping at an 'appropriate' time. Though she had no way of knowing if he would continue work after getting home, at the very least she had given him a probably much needed break.

Jason enjoyed her checking in with him on a daily basis. He couldn't deny for even a second, nor did he wish to do so, that he loved hearing about all that she had done and to see her smile as she did. Just like his hugs managed to wash away all of Jenny's worries, her smile manged to wash away all his fatigue. Making everything feel worth his while, even them being apart for a couple of days. But with her investing so much time in trying to include and talk to him, he hoped that it wasn't taking away from her fun at the trip. There was no use to them being apart if neither was enjoying themselves. Though in the pictures she seemed to be quite happy considering that she was probably missing him, he couldn't help but ask for intel from his parents, her mother and Elizabeth. Their biggest fan and the one person among their friends who concerned themselves almost as much about Jenny's happiness as himself. Only after receiving confirmation from them, could he put his mind at ease as he continued to count down the days till he could join them as well.
