If you love someone...

Jason and Jenny spent the rest of the day separately. They both needed some time to themselves. After school they didn't go home and instead went their own way with each of their friend groups. After their fight their only interaction was through text and consisted only of them letting each other know that they were going somewhere after school and wouldn't be joining the other for the ride back home. Jenny went to the mall with Elizabeth and Julia. Jason went to Harry's house with the guys. But despite their questions, neither of them wanted to talk about it. It was a matter between the two of them and sometimes its best to leave it that way. Plus, neither of them felt like talking about the matters at the moment and had left with friends to take their minds of what was going on between them. Where Jenny forced herself to pretend she was fine and was having fun shopping, Jason was absentmindedly playing video games and aimlessly shooting about. After some time it was time to go home and face the music. They couldn't leave things unresolved. Not for themselves, not for their relationship and neither for their friends as they were being affected by their fight as well.

When Jason came home later that evening he was greeted at the door by Garry as usual. Garry saw that Jason wasn't looking like his cheerful self. He seemed upset and so had Jenny when she had come home earlier. Despite her smile and her trying to assure him and her parents-in-law that she was doing fine, they could all tell something was wrong. All throughout dinner she had been silent and had excused herself after barely touching her food. He was wondering what had happened between the two of them, but he wasn't in a position to ask. Especially not if the master and mistress of the house had decided to ignore it. He simply hoped that they could resolve their issues quickly, because he did not like seeing them like this. He snapped back to reality when Jason interrupted his thoughts with a question.

"Garry, has Jenny arrived home already?"

"Yes. She arrived shortly before dinner and has just retired to the bedroom."

"Alright. Thank you Garry. I will go join her now."

"Before you go, your father wishes to talk to you. He told me to have you come find him in his study before talking to miss Jenny."

"I understand. I will go there now."

Jason nodded and headed to the West wing. He knocked on the door of his father's study and went inside, where he found Stephen behind his desk, bent over some documents. "Good evening father. Garry said you wanted to see me?" Stephen looked up and said, "Yes, take a seat. I wanted to have a short talk with you. Look, I don't know what happened between you and Jenny, but I assume it has something to do with you being in separate classes this year." Jason nodded "I understand that you are upset son and I know that you care for her very much, but if you hold onto her too strongly, you might suffocate her. They don't say for nothing that if you love someone, set them free. If they love you back, they will return. That doesn't just apply during a break, but also at the end of the day. If you don't hold back your jealousy a bit, you will lose her."

"I know." Jason said with a grave expression.

"If you know, then go and apologize to her. Whether it is your fault or not. Your grandfather always told me, as a man you have to pick your battles, because you can be happy or you can be right. Sometimes it is important to be right, but most of the time the battle isn't worth it. So, unless she actually cheated on you, go tell her you are sorry and try to reach a compromise, because you should never go to bed angry."

Jason nodded his head. "I will. Then if that was all, I will excuse myself. I have a conversation to hold that is long overdue."

Now it was Stephen's turn to nod. Just before Jason stepped out he added, "Oh, and take some food with you. She barely ate anything this evening."

Without saying a word Jason closed the door and headed back to the East wing.

Jenny was sitting by the window and was staring at drizzling rain. Now that her initial anger had worn off, she was starting to think back on what she had said and done. Though what Jason had done was not okay, she had a big part in this mess. It wasn't right for her to hold things back from Jason, knowing full well that he was having a tough time with what was going on as it was. She was still contemplating what to say when she heard the door open and saw Jason standing there with a peace offering. He knew she loved his cooking and he had made her one of her favorite dishes.

"Can I come in?"

"Its your room too, so of course you can." Jenny said as she glanced back and forth between himself and the food in his hands.

Jason handed her the plate and said, "I wanted to talk about what happened today and I heard you didn't eat much during dinner, so I made you this so you can eat while we talk." Jenny was quite hungry, but couldn't swallow or taste the food during as she was worried about how today had gone down. She wanted to make up with Jason, but she didn't know if he felt the same way nor if he would come home. Now that he was here and wanted to talk things out as well, her appetite had returned. So, she gratefully took the plate and nodded her head as Jason joined her on the opposite side of the windowsill. Now that they had calmed down and were in the same room willing to talk, all that there was left to do was to actually have the talk, but that proved harder than it seemed as they were surrounded by a deafening silence. Hearing nothing more than the ticking of the clock and the rain hitting against the window. Jason took a deep breath and let out an equally deep sigh before he said, "Look..."

The talking has begun and so can the resolving.

Here we are with today's chapter and tomorrow will show their resolve/compromise. So I hope I will see you all then :D.
