If you can't reach the daughter, find the mother

Susan could not believe what she had just done and much less believe what just happened. During her ride back to the hotel she kept going over what just took place. What more could she do or offer to convince Jenny. Susan knew that this was the right girl and was determined not to give up. She may have lost the battle, but she hadn't lost the war. She just needed to think of a new plan. This time she came unprepared, because rejection never even crossed her mind. This time she would make sure that she was fully armed. Failure was not an option.

She and Stephen were supposed to go out for dinner tonight to celebrate them finding a daughter-in-law, but after what happened she did not feel like going outside of the suite. She had to think of a plan. She had no time to waste on dressing up and going out. When Stephen returned he saw Susan was no where near ready to go on their discussed dinner. Instead she had a messy bun and was focused on her laptop screen. "I take it your conversation did not go as planned?" he said as he placed a kiss on her forehead. "No. not even close. She rejected us Steve. I cannot go back to England without her. I have to think of something." "Maybe I can help you think of something. Why did she reject us?"

"Well...I guess what I said made her think that I thought I could buy her approval..he he.." She laughed awkwardly. "I thought if I offered her something to compensate her for the troubles we are asking her to go through and show her how this exchange could benefit us both, she would agree. This way she would gain something regardless of if she and Jason decide to go through with this engagement or not, but monetary compensation was rejected immediately in all forms. So right now I am trying to figure out what else I could offer her and how I can solve this misunderstanding" "Well, if you cannot reach the daughter, then find the mother. See if she can help you convince her" Of course! He was right. She too was doing this for her son, maybe Jenny's mother could see things from her perspective. They could talk from mother to mother. Who better to let Jenny see the benefits, then someone she trusted the most. Susan jumped up and hugged her sweet husband. "Thank you honey! That is perfect. What would I do without you" She gave him a kiss on the lips before she stood up to get changed. This man deserved a fine dinner and she wasn't going to keep him from it any longer. Stephen laughed at the sudden change in her mood.

Jenny finally got home and went to her room to change and see if she could help her mother with dinner. She was a still a little annoyed by what had happened today, but decided to let it go. She made herself clear and would probably not meet that crazy woman again. She rushed downstairs to be met with the smell of her favorite meal. She gave her mom a hug from behind and a kiss on the cheek. "Hi mom, how was your day?" "Hello, my sweet child. You know I keep busy, today I learned a new knitting pattern at the red cross. Do you want to see it?" Jenny laughed at her mother's innocence. There was no kinder or cuter person than her. She and her brothers had crowned her the grandma of the world, because she could reject no person or child and always tried to cheer them up and teach them. Little did Jenny know that her encounter with Susan would not be her last and this woman she loved so much, would play a big role in the outcome of her third meeting with Susan"

The juices are flowing and my fourth chapter of the day is published! I am really excited and I hope you enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoy writing it.

For now I have to start my day job, so the next time I post something will probably be on Saturday. If you have any questions, suggestions or comments, don't be afraid to let me know! I am still learning, so your words can only make me better :)
