Hoping for the best

Jenny was fuming. How dare he talk to her like that. She didn't even want to be here. Guess the saying "no good deed goes unpunished" was proven to her this day. She should have known better than to think it could work out between two people of such different worlds. No money in the world was worth her dignity. She was sorry towards Susan and Stephen, but their son had crossed multiple of her boundaries. She never meant to use her fighting skills for anything other than defense, but who could stand what had happened to her and not do anything. If she let him off easily it would, that would be another disgrace she would have suffered today. If they wanted some meek girl who would accept that and shed some pretty tears, then they came to the wrong address.

Jenny had always been a person who would return the favor. If you gave her kindness, she would give you kindness in return. You treated her with animosity and she would show you that she is not one to good down without a fight. But most importantly, she always demanded respect. This was because that was something she would always give someone, regardless of who they were and regardless of if they spoke in anger or kindness. So for him to treat her with such disrespect, without exchanging as much as a "hello", was something she could not stand for. She had to get herself out of that situation before she would do something even worse. "Jeez, how long is this damn driveway!". Where she admired the long and beautiful driveway at first, now that she was trying to get away, it became enemy number one.

Soon after Jenny and her mother had gone out of the door, Jason had a moment to talk to his mother. What did they mean by bringing this girl here? Why did they not tell him anything? He made a complete fool out of himself and hurt an innocent person. This was not the kind of man he was nor wanted to be. "Jason, I know your father and I have made some mistakes in the past, which made you distrust us. Though I cannot change the past, nor can I solve all of our misunderstandings, I want to help you find happiness. This self punishment to teach us a lesson has got to stop, before you ruin yourself and your future. You don't have to trust us, but at least try to give that girl a chance. Judge for yourself whether she can be trusted or not. I will not force anything on you. I only created a chance, it is up to you what you want to do with that chance. Just know that by letting things end like this, the person you hurt will not only be me and your father, but yourself as well."

Jason did not need to trust his parents to know that this girl did not have any ill will. If she did, she would not have burned this bridge entirely. She would have stormed out after having her intentions revealed, she might have tried the pity act by shedding crocodile tears, she might have even taken him up on his offer! However, this girl didn't do any of those things. Instead she insulted him back on every level he could think of and taught him a painful lesson while doing so. Jason, who had realized his mistake, could not have been happier with their seemingly endless driveway. He knew that if she had stormed out like that, she would not be in the right state of mind to think rationally. So, she would not notice the golf carts near the entrance designed for them to get around the premises. This would mean he would still be able to catch up to her and would hopefully give this unexpected guest a bit of time to cool off...Hoping for the best, Jason pulled his pants up and ran out the door.

The week flew by and it is Monday already, this signs off the start of another work-week and means that I won't be able to write as much. To compensate, I will publish two chapters today and hopefully I will find some time during the week to work on ADM again.

I am noticing that it is taking me more time to write the chapters as the real story has begun. More details to think about and seemingly less time to write it out, but I like a good challenge. I will try to at least put out three chapters a week and everything more is a bonus ;).

Hopefully you guys are still sticking with my story and will enjoy the first chapter of the week.
