Her first kiss

A kiss had been set into motion. Both were taken slightly by surprise to what was happening, but needed different amounts of time to process. This was much more than a hug. This was much better than a hug. But he had gone too far. There was no coming back from this. This was clearly against their agreement. If she didn't like it, how could he save the situation. He had no excuse this time. But for now the deed was done and he might as well enjoy it while Jenny is showing no signs of rejection. This kind of chance might not come by again for a long time. As he was thinking this, he felt tiny hands nudging him to let go. So regretfully he was forced to break the kiss and release his grip on her. He didn't dare to look her in the eye, afraid of her reaction. So instead he just turned his body away to free her. As soon as he did that, she got up and ran towards the stairs. Jason turned around in a flash and with wide eyes he tried calling her back. He apologized for what he had done. But it had no effect. Jenny bolted up the stairs and he could hear her door slamming shut and being locked. Jason was forced to sit there with the mess of brunch and a face filled with regret. He stared at the space in front of him, without focusing on something specific. He was lost in thought. About what had happened. About what he could have done. About what he should have done. About what he thought Jenny was going to say to him. If she would ever talk to him again that is. About how he was going to apologize. He was stuck at this last one. How could he make her forgive him. He had damaged her trust and she had always said that once her trust was lost, it was nearly impossible to regain. And just yesterday they had said that just that, trust, was the most important thing in a relationship.

While Jason was beating himself up about what he had done, Jenny's mind was filled with that which she hadn't done. Push Jason away. Did that mean she liked it? She at least didn't hate it. That she did now. Subconsciously she felt her fingers going to her lips, where she could still feel the lingering touch of Jason's lips. Her heart rate was still way above normal and as she was recalling what happened, her face instantly went red. It all happened so fast, but when it did happen, why did she wait so long before pushing Jason away? For a slight second, she even closed her eyes! She had to take some time to reflect. She had to figure out what all of this meant. She could no longer run or hide from her feelings. She had to sit down and face them. She had to spend some time to think about how she felt about Jason. It would be unfair to him if she kept going back and forth. She had to make a decision. And seeing as there wasn't much time left, she had to do it now. She had just had her first kiss! If she couldn't figure out her feelings now, she never would.

After Jason had cleaned everything up and Jenny didn't show up for the dinner he had prepared, he felt his chances of them recovering lower. Well if she wasn't going to come down, he didn't have much to do here either. He should try apologizing one more time instead. So slightly dejected, Jason went upstairs and knocked on Jenny's door. "Jenny, I know you are upset, but I want you to know I am sorry. I have been holding back everything as much as I can, but in that moment, my feelings got the best of me. We were having so much fun these days and we were getting closer with each day that passed. You weren't rejecting my advances and the confidence that gave me, went to my head. For a second there, I even convinced myself you weren't opposed to me kissing you.." A moment of silence followed this. "I know I have broken your trust and this was clearly against what we had agreed upon. And I know your trust is something that is difficult to gain and even more difficult to regain. But I want you to know that if you allow me to, I am willing to put in the work and try. You probably don't want to see me right now, but you should eat something. I have prepared dinner. It is one of you favorites. No surprise there I guess. Just come downstairs and have some. You shouldn't punish yourself over my mistakes. I will stay in my room for the rest of the night, so you don't have to worry about running into me. So yeah..I guess that is all. And again, I am really sorry for betraying your trust. Good night then I suppose." With this Jason left from in front of Jenny's door and entered his own room. He closed the door and dropped himself face forward onto his bed hoping tomorrow would be a better day for them both.
