Hell to pay

No matter how Harry looked, the girls couldn't be found anywhere and he couldn't get through Jason's phone. It wasn't until his third try that Jason finally answered. Completely out of breath Harry asked "Jason!" pant, pant "Where are you?!".

"Harry, what's wrong? Why are you so out of breath?" Jason said when he heard Harry's voice. George and Nick chimed in from the background the moment they heard it was Harry on the other side of the line "Harry! Where were you during gym class?" "Yeah man, where were you? We were looking everywhere for you!"

Jason ignored the talks of the other guys and continued "You disappeared all of a sudden and didn't return nor picked up your phone, so we were looking for you. Right now I am on the roof with George and Nick."

"I am fine. There is no time to worry about that. Do you know where Jenny is?"

"Jenny? Why are you suddenly asking me about Jenny?" Jason squinted his eyes for a moment before continuing to say "She and Julia are going out for a bite to eat together. They just left."

"Damn it. I was too late. Meet me down the stairs to the roof, I will head there now. We need to talk."

Jason could hear the seriousness in his tone and decided to head downstairs and save his questions for when they were face to face. "Okay, I will head downstairs now."

It wasn't long before the friends were face to face. Harry had just caught his breath when Jason, George and Nick had reached the ground floor. Harry looked up in the direction of the steps "Jason..". "Tell me, what has you so worried about Jenny's whereabouts and so out of breath from searching?" Harry was silent. After looking Jason in the eyes and swallowing a moment of hesitation, he told him "Well..during gym class Jenny told me that she and Julia are going on a blind group date with guys from one of the neighboring all boys schools. They were supposed to meet up today after school."

Suddenly it felt like they were in a blizzard storm. The temperature around them dropped ten degrees and an anger flashed over Jason's almost arctic blue eyes. His gaze felt like it would freeze you to death in an instant. The eyes that could normally not be read and displayed an eerie calmness, now had a clear sign of anger. They were unsure what was more dangerous, the calm before the storm or the thunder that could be seen and heard now. It felt like time was standing still and at the same time it felt like ten years of their life was being taken from them in the silence that followed Harry's words. With a clenched jaw Jason said "And you waited to inform me of this until now..?"

"W-well you see I didn't notice the presence of the word 'we' in her story until ten minutes ago. I was so wrapped up in the words she said about me and Julia. The moment I realized she would be joining Julia, I called you and ran all over to look for them. I swear that I would have stopped her if I had the slightest idea at that moment that she would get herself involved like that."

Jason's expression did not soften up at all. He was pissed. He was angry at Harry for getting Jenny involved in his matters again by dragging them out for so long that it allowed her to try and solve his problems for him. Without an ounce of warmth in his words and his eyes shooting daggers, he responded to Harry's words.

"I told you to handle your affairs. I don't care whether you want to get together with Julia or not, but because of your indecisiveness you got my woman involved in your mess. You had better pray nothing happens in the time it takes us to find them or there will be hell to pay."

He turned around briskly as the three boys followed him with a mixed sense of hesitation and fear. While Jason was walking down the small steps of stairs by the entrance he was giving off an aura that made everyone step out of his way. It was as if his presence could freeze hell over. Jason was hardly focused to where he was going as he was lost in his anger over the situation and also at the nerve of the woman in question for actually going on a date. A group date for that matter. What was she thinking?! And she was even trying to hide it from him. Now her suspicious behavior from last night was making sense. He should have started digging then, but now was not the time to be thinking about these things. He needed to find them ASAP!

Jason was walking high paced in the direction of the cars and was trying to get through to Jenny's cellphone. However it seemed like she had turned her phone off. He felt like smashing his phone to the floor, but settled for tightening his grip on the phone instead. 'So she didn't want to talk to him hmm. Don't think that you can get away with this by playing ostrich!' Jason stopped in his movements by the time he reached the end of the pathway leading them to the cars and turned around. He had decided to set aside his anger for now, so he could be more clear headed for what was to come. If they wanted to find them as soon as possible, they would have to work together. Jason's angered expression changed to a sinister one, surprising Nick, Harry and George who were following close behind him, and he said "It seems like we have to go on a hunt boys. These brave girls think they can get away with this and are giving us a dare by turning off their phones. They are challenging us to a game of hide and seek, and I for one am down to play!"

Let the games begin as they say. They are playing a game of chase. As promised a chapter following the announcement of the group date. Tomorrow I will continue. Enjoy for now and stay healthy dear readers!
