Hectic schedule

Though Jason had said those words softly and there were barely any people left in the room aside from them, it was still heard by the one person that had hid himself near them. Everyone that knew Jason and had watched him during the past two years knew that there was only one 'personal reason' Jason could have been affected by. The majority of the top five candidates and their 'team' had stopped watching Jason because of his behaviour over the years. There had been just one of them who had always kept an eye on all the other candidates, distrusting everything till the position of CEO was in his hands. Even his own senses. The person who had overheard them had been this person. Recently, due to rumours he had heard through his wife, he had started looking into Jason a bit more and because of this he knew that the only person that could fit that description was Jenny. Reaching the same conclusion as Stephen and his grandfather, who had respectively confirmed their suspicion and had his question answered indirectly.

So unfortunately, the person who had overheard them talking, or better said had eavesdropped on their conversation, was aware of Jenny's existence and the rumours surrounding them as a couple. After three of them walked out of the meeting room, he came out from behind the table and straightened his body before walking out calmly as well. When he had entered his own office Frederick immediately took measures with the information he had obtained. He figured that he could use the information most effectively by handing it over to his wife and he was sure that she would do the rest. She had some beef with Jason's fiance. By letting her cause some damage with this piece of information, he could kill two birds with one stone. Letting his wife obtain her revenge, while he could cause some damage to his opponent. If they wanted to maximize it's effect, they needed to act fast. Preferably during a setting where he wouldn't be able to intervene. At least not if he didn't want to lose face in the presence of all the people he had tried to convince of his capabilities today. Of course he was referring to Jason's birthday party that would start in less than two hours.

After the meeting Jason walked with Stephen and his grandfather to the CEO's office, where they worked out the details of Jason's plan for the merger and how his days would look after graduation and him starting working at the main head quarters. Advising him to start work not in September, but as soon as he can to prevent the others of thwarting his plans and ruining his hard work till this point. Though Jason wasn't very willing, he too knew that this was the best plan. He just didn't know how to bring it to Jenny. He had counted on spending the summer with her to compensate for his busy and hectic schedule after starting University. Now that didn't seem like an option any more. The only positive side to starting earlier, is that time they would be able to spend together would be reduced gradually instead of abruptly. In the summer he wouldn't have school aside from work, meaning that that time would be free to spend with Jenny aside from the time he had already reserved for her. Plus, an earlier start would mean an earlier finish and possibly a less hectic schedule during his first weeks at work. Opening up more time in that otherwise extremely busy period. Spreading his responsibilities out a bit more.

With all that information on his mind, he returned to Westwood mansion. He would need to have a good talk with Jenny later tonight. After the party he would take his time to explain everything they had discussed after the meeting and answer any questions Jenny might have. When he arrived Jenny was already waiting for him, looking as beautiful as ever, but he barely had time to compliment her as they needed to leave right away. The conversation after the meeting had taken up a lot longer than he had anticipated and him having two experts investigating his findings didn't help either. Giving him no chance to catch a breath or unbutton the sharp suit he had been wearing since morning. Jenny had just finished up and had been waiting for him so they could go to the party together as they needed to make an entrance together. This had always been a custom for the candidates on their eighteenth birthday because it made it clear to everyone what her position in the candidate's life was. Including those that hadn't formally met the partner of a candidate yet and would give people the chance to get acquainted with her.

While he rushed inside he stood frozen for a split second, being absorbed in how Jenny was looking. He quickly spoke to Jenny before trying to make his way back out. "Wow, you look stunning Jenny. Let's get going. We shouldn't be late for our own party." They needed to make an entrance together, to make her role clear to everyone that hadn't formally met her yet. And Jenny had chosen the perfect dress to do so. One that was elegant and wasn't too revealing, but managed to show off her beautiful figure at the same time. Today hairdressers and make-up artist had helped Jenny to get ready, because she wanted everything to be perfect for such a big day. "Yes, I am ready. Don't you need to change as well?" Jason shook his head. "My mom took my suit with her to the venue. I'll get changed there." After those words Jenny took his hand and followed him out the door.

A surprise double release! I will be upping the releases for the next couple of days as I have a bit more time on my hands and there is a part of the story I want to go by a bit faster
