Hand in hand

Jenny and Jason hadn't talked to their friends after leaving Harry's house. The results of their talk was revealed the next day. Jenny and Jason were talking in the hallway in front of their classroom, when they saw Harry and Julia walk towards them while holding hands. Harry had a wide grin on his face, whereas Julia was slightly hidden behind his arm with a gentle, shy smile. Her happiness could be seen from miles away as she was glowing. Both Jenny and Jason felt no need to ask them which decision they had made, because the image before them told all. The newly formed couple didn't stop at the door from Harry's class, but walked passed them to the classroom two doors down. Jenny turned her body around slowly as the two walked to Julia's classroom and Jason, who was leaning against the class window, turned his head in their direction as well. They saw Harry grab both Julia's hands and lean down as Julia stood on her tiptoes. He gave her a kiss before Julia entered the class in a slight daze. She waved him goodbye and he held up his hand in return. After seeing her in, he turned around and walked back to his own classroom. Everyone was looking in shock at what just happened, but neither of them acknowledged the stares. Harry walked right past his friends, without saying a single word and entered the classroom. Jenny and Jason exchanged glances of surprise and chuckled in unison at the change in their friend's behavior. Class was about to start so Jenny and Jason followed Harry inside and returned to their seats.

The moment lunch started, Harry went to Julia's classroom to pick her up. George who had been clueless about what had happened since they left the group date, was completely taken by surprise when he saw Harry return with Julia hand in hand. In a confused state he pointed in turn at the intertwined hands, to Harry, to Julia and back to their locked hands. Both couples couldn't help but laugh at his reaction. From the corner Elizabeth was staring to all of this unfold and was biting the nail of her thumb from annoyance. She had been trying to get close to Jason and lunch break seemed like the only time she was able to do so. It felt like she had been banned to another school instead of another class. Most of her classes were taking place in a completely different wing to Jason's classes. She was lucky if she caught a glimpse of him, let alone talk to him. How was she to make up with him if that girl was always around him. Would he never grow tired of her. She was sure the end would be near when she heard rumors of that stupid Julia taking Jenny with her on a group date with some guys from Willshire academy. Now it seemed that not only did Jason and that nobody not break up, but Julia had managed to get together with Harry. Now she couldn't even snag him up. Were all the worthy men blind to her charms. When will they realize they can do better than whatever their parents have dragged up for them.

As she was lost in her frustrations, Nick entered the building. He was walking in the direction of Jason's classroom and saw a girl peeking around the corner of the wall at the end of the hallway. He walked up to her and stood behind her quietly. He followed her gaze to look what she was looking at. He looked back at her and saw her serious and annoyed expression before looking back in the same direction as her. Her stare seemed to be directed at the group of people he was supposed to meet up with. Elizabeth was so focused on the group of people a few feet away from her, that she failed to notice the one that was standing mere inches away. He pulled her out of her concentration by suddenly saying jokingly "Who is that fierce gaze directed at? If you don't watch out, they might evaporate from the intensity". Elizabeth was startled and tumbled over from her sudden movement, landing very unflatteringly on her butt. She looked up in annoyance and pain over the person who disturbed her, before being pleasantly surprised by the handsome man holding out one hand and covering his chuckling face with the other. Nick stopped laughing and said "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. My name is Nick. You were looking so seriously and intensely I couldn't help tease you a bit." while still holding out his hand to help her up. Elizabeth woke up from her daze and slapped his hand away before getting up on her own and patting the dust off her skirt. "Psh who was staring and who even asked you. Mind your own business." After saying this she stormed off angrily and ignored the man who couldn't contain his laughter any longer and had held himself up against the wall and used his other hand to hold onto his aching stomach. After laughing to his hearts content, he hurriedly walked over to the roof to follow his friends for lunch. Little did they know that this wouldn't be the last of their interactions..

On their way over to the roof, the friends had filled George in on the events that had taken place. He tried to hide his shock over what had happened. He too never thought that things could change so fast. This had literally changed overnight. Despite his confusions, the dominant emotion he felt right now was happiness. He was happy his friends had both made up, happy that the events from two days ago ended on a positive note and happy that they could finally allow Julia to join them again. He had been feeling bad over having to leave Julia behind, so he interacted with her on the down low sometimes. But that couldn't exactly compensate for the loss of an entire group of friends. Now all they needed was the return of Elizabeth for them to be complete again. Hopefully that wouldn't take as long as the restoration of their friendship with Julia. George played with this idea for a slight moment in his mind, as he watched everyone together on the roof with a melancholic smile on his face. His train of thought got disrupted by Nick entering the rooftop. After filling him in too on the recent developments, the group of friends chatted away happily and they wasted no time to start teasing Harry and Julia with their relationship and the events of that morning. After fully filling their curiosity and their appetites, they all returned to class and focused on their last classes of the week, because next week would be the start of exams. This meant they were facing a weekend of buckling down and studying. How will they fare? Luckily, regardless of these results, they had a week long holiday to look forward to. Two weeks if they did well, so there was light at the end of the studying tunnel!

Boy what a struggle! Somehow I was very stuck after the previous chapter XD. I have been staring and editing back and forth for 3 hours till I finally finished it, but I have something good in mind for the next chapters now.

Hopefully you will like it too. Enjoy for now. The week went by in a flash! The next time I publish will be Saturday, so look forward to it.
