Good girl act

The reason Jason was acting this way wasn't just because he had missed Jenny a lot and was glad to have her back. Making her pay the 'debt' with interest that she had accumulated during their time apart. But also because he had noticed that Jenny seemed unable to say no to him these days. No matter what kind of selfish requests he was making. Though normally she would have told him, "No way!" and would throw a pillow to his head or would show any other type of protest or refusal. However, ever since they had made up even if he could tell she wanted to say something, she would hold back her words. Doing whatever he asked with a smile. He simply wanted to see how far he could take it before she would snap and today he finally managed to reach that point.

Jason found Jenny by the side of the hall, not far from the cafeteria, leaning against a window railing. He walked up to her with a calm, steady pace. When he reached her he put his arms around her and grabbed his own wrist to lock her in as he placed his chin on the top of her head. "Hey stranger, what are you doing here? Do you have a boyfriend? Because you look like my type." Jenny turned around with slightly reddened eyes, "Don't 'Hey stranger' me. Does this seem like the time to be joking?!" Jason shot up straight and as if being a soldier in the army he said, "No ma'am!" Jenny sighed, feeling helpless against this silly man. "Damn it Jason, I am not joking right now. What were you thinking back there?" Jason's expression softened as he finally turned more serious. He sat against the windowsill and pulled Jenny to face him. "Quite frankly, I was thinking that I was missing my fiance. These days it seems like she has disappeared and I have gotten a well behaved fiance in return, who seems unable to turn down my requests or voice her own opinion. So, I wanted to see how far she was willing to go to keep up the good girl act."

Jenny seemed visibly startled as she felt caught. She didn't think that Jason would notice, but she did have a difficult time saying no these days. She felt that the situation with Max was mostly her fault. Feeling guilty for leaving the house and being forgiven so easily and on top of that being thought of so much by Jason that he would change classes at a moments notice to accompany her. Because of all of that, she didn't know how to behave around him. So, to ease her own guilt, she went along with whatever he wanted. But sooner or later that had to stop and it seemed the time for that had arrived. "So you noticed that, hmm?" Jenny asked while looking at his buttons. "It was hard not to. At first I was happy, but after a while I started to miss your scowls and pillow throws. I have even lost my dodging reflex around throwpillows. They are simply decorations now!" Jason said with a tone of shock.

Jenny chuckled in response, but still didn't look up. "Are my buttons really that fascinating?" Again Jenny was caught by surprise, stopping the moving of her fingers instantly. Having her undivided attention now he continued, "It seems that when you don't know what to say you either go for my tie or my buttons. Is your subconscious talking to me?" Again Jenny laughed. "Ha ha ha, who knows. I don't even know. Maybe I just like the guy underneath those buttons and tie too much. So, even when I don't know how to face him quite yet, I can stay connected like this without him being able to read my thoughts from my betraying eyes." She looked up at him with a gently smile and warm eyes. Proving Jason's earlier confidence to be justified as Jenny clearly didn't seem mad at him. He brushed a strand of Jenny's hair behind her ears as he looked at her with a gentle and loving expression. "Well, I happen to like those betraying eyes of yours. They are my best allies. Girls are enough of a mystery, without you hiding the one clue men get into the complex workings of your brains." Again Jenny chuckled and she hugged Jason.

They stood there for few minutes, as Jenny tried to regain the courage to step back into the filled cafeteria. She was glad it was Friday. She needed a few days to allow the others and to allow herself to forget what had happened today. After the weekend she was sure there would be plenty of other things to talk about, other than her little moment of PDA during lunch. Lucky for her teenagers did plenty of stupid things, including the wealthy ones or better yet, especially the wealthy ones. So, there was bound to happen something during those two days that would fill the halls on Monday morning. But for now, this would probably be the biggest rumour and she needed to face their eyes if she hoped to have lunch before the bell rang.

After a while Jason, who saw that there was just ten minutes left of the lunch break seemed to have the same thought as he said, "Let's go. Weren't you saying that you were famished before? Lunch is almost over." She knew what Jason was saying was true. She knew. But she couldn't get her feet to move. Jason looked down at the Jenny that was still clinging onto him tightly and saw that she seemed reluctant to move from the spot they were in. Being responsible for her reluctance, Jason decided to spare Jenny for the rest of today. She had admitted what she had done and had taken his actions with stride, there was nothing more he could expect from her. He placed a kiss on the top of her head and ruffled her hair as he let go of her. "Wait here. I will go get us lunch to go. You can eat it in the classroom." Jenny looked up with a expression that seemed at a loss for words before it turned to a relieved smile. "Uhn. That sounds great!"

Here is the promised second chapter. I hope you all enjoy and I will be back here tomorrow!
