Flowers in the sky

Enjoying the delivered dessert till the last bite, Jenny was finally full. Thinking this was the end of his string of surprises she got up and started clearing the table, after placing an appreciative kiss on Jason's lips. Despite Jason telling her to leave the dishes be, she didn't want to risk him coming in later and doing it himself. He had done enough for her. It wouldn't be fair if he was left with all the cleaning, after doing all the preparations as well. She put on an apron and started washing the pots in the sink and the dishes she had cleared from the table, when she saw Jason from the corner of her eye. He was rearranging some things on the patio, but she couldn't really tell what he was trying to do. She quickly finished up her work in the kitchen and joined him outside. It was here that she saw that he had pushed the swing-chair to the middle of the pool, facing the water, and had placed a blanket and a few extra pillows on it.

"What's all of this?" She asked with curiosity. "You are just in time! Quick, come here. Before we are too late." Getting the feeling that Jason would continue his secretive ways of today and refuse to answer her questions, she asked no further and walked over to him. He grabbed her by the shoulders and seated her down on the comfy swing chair and grabbed the thin blanket and placed it over her legs. Though it wasn't exactly cold tonight, he wanted to complete the picture he had in mind. For that, them being huddled together underneath a single blanket was essential. Once Jenny was taken care of, he sat down right next to her. Not leaving even an inch of space between them and covered himself with the blanket as well. He pulled Jenny close and he glanced at his watch. Suddenly he started counting down "10, 9, 8, 7, ..". Jenny had no idea why he was counting down or what she was supposed to look at. Though she was fine with staring at the view, which was absolutely breathtaking from up here, she was certain Jason wouldn't be counting for the view. He must have something else planned.

After a day like this, Jenny no longer knew what she could expect and that in itself made her fill with a child like excitement. With each count she felt this excitement grow. With clasped hands she looked at the horizon. "...2, 1, 0". As if he had planned the activity himself, the moment he said "0" the sky lit up with a bang. Soon the second one came, a third and many more followed. Coloring the sky with bright lights and fizzling sparks. The fireworks were reflected in Jenny's eyes, who had barely blinked since the moment the show started. Jenny loved fireworks, especially the large ones. She liked how they managed to keep surprising her. You never knew if these flowers in the sky would fade after their first bang or would be hiding a second one or contained a sparkling rain.

Jason came across this firework show while he was looking for a restaurant for the chocolate orb that they had for dessert. Apparently there was some kind of festival nearby and the last day had a firework show. Having the advantage of being high up and facing the water, he figured they would probably be able to enjoy the fireworks as well. Jason looked over to the side and saw Jenny had a big grin on her face as she was lost in the fireworks. Barely acknowledging his presence. Without disturbing her, he moved his hands to cover her ears. He knew she loved to look, but didn't like the loud bangs that came with fireworks. He wanted her to fully enjoy the show and this way she would be able to do that without any discomfort.

The show had lasted for almost half an hour. The first few seconds, after the last piece of firework had let out its bang and the colors had faded, Jenny remained sitting still. She kept looking anticipatingly at the sky for just a brief moment, waiting for another round to start. However she she had to accept that the show was really over. Finally she noticed Jason's hands on the sides of her head, covering her ears and turned to face him. He had long since stopped looking at the fireworks and had been staring at her amusing facial expressions instead. Jenny had been alternating between shocked, impressed, overjoyed and a grin, throughout the entire show. Jenny looked at him a bit bewildered and with a slightly tilted face asked him "Why are you looking at me? Didn't you enjoy the firework show?" Jason chuckled and rested his head on his arm before saying "Oh don't worry about me. I had found a much more interesting show that kept distracting me. So I decided to focus there instead."

Jenny hadn't been aware of her active face during the show, so she didn't really understand what he meant. Instead of asking further, she replied with a proposal. The already warm weather and the heat she had accumulated by being covered with this blanket, had made Jenny quite hot and made the water from the pool look very tempting. So with a flirty look and a grin on her face she said "Now that we have had dinner and have enjoyed a show, how about we go for a late night swim?" Jason didn't need to be asked that question twice. Though these past days, Jenny had worn her bathing suit multiple times, he hadn't been able to enjoy her image in it fully, because there had always been others present. So a part of his mind was always busy with hiding her from the others, instead of admiring what was in front of him. This time he wouldn't let the chance escape!

Here is today's first chapter. I hope you enjoy and the second one will be out in few hours
