Fixed seats

Jenny and Jason walked into the school. When they walked up to Jason's classroom, the others were waiting outside the classroom and chatting to each other. The both of them walked up to greet the group and joined them. When the first bell rang and it was almost time for class, Nick and Jason walked with Jenny and Elizabeth to their classes to say goodbye. Before they walked away George said, "It's really such a shame that we never managed to all be in the same class, even now we are all friends again. But then again, I never got to be in the same class as Sophia. So, maybe it's only fair that some of you understand my pain." Harry and Julia chuckled at the remark that was clearly intended as a joke, but to the other members of the group this wound was still too fresh and felt like salt being poured into them, making them glare in his direction. George hid behind Harry to hide from their angry looks, "Help me. They are planning to hurt me." He said as he peeked at them over Harry's shoulder, but harry was having none of it. "Hey don't drag me into this. I was in their position last year and I know how much that sucked. You were the one who decided to poke the bear."

Jenny and the others didn't have more time to waste here as the first bell had already rang, which gave them just five minutes. Though their classes were nearby, if they wanted to have a proper goodbye, they needed the little time that was left before the second bell. Jason was especially determined to make the time count as one of the things he had Jenny promise was that they would walk to her classroom together everyday and he would be allowed a moment of PDA, despite Jenny disliking it. Even though Jason knew that, he wasn't going to let this opportunity slip out of his hands. He had to take whatever victory he could get to make Jenny push her boundaries. She was too self conscious about everyone and everything. Though she had come a long way from where they started, she still cared too much.

Especially considering this was their final year. Regardless of if they attend the same University or a different one next year, the time they get to spend together will become less. Now the time for classes is limited from nine in the morning till three in the afternoon. University doesn't have those restrictions and classes can run much later. Which will make their rosters more scattered and the odds of their timetables matching very small. So, when they do have time together during the day, they should be able to be as close as they want without her worrying about other people possibly walking in on them or seeing them in each other's arms or share a kiss.

So, they walked hand in hand to her classroom and when they reached the entrance he held both of her hands and said, "You'll be fine. Just be yourself and they will love you." When Jenny nodded with a smile, Jason lowered himself as he placed a kiss on her lips. Though it was short, it was enough to get Jenny flustered. She pushed him away as she looked around to see if anyone saw and of course when two of the most handsome guys in the school are standing in front of a classroom, some people are bound to stare. Jenny covered her face with both of her hands as she said, "What are you doing Jason? We are in the middle of the school. Everyone is watching." Jason shot a glare at the people by the window, who immediately looked in the other direction. He pulled Jenny's hands away from her face, "Let them watch. Don't forget your promise to me. You had better get used to this." He said with a chuckle, before ruffling her hair and walking back to his own classroom.

Nick and Elizabeth, who both didn't care at all about who could see them, had been kissing and hugging themselves. When from the corner of his eye Nick caught Jason leaving as he was saying sweet words to Elizabeth. "That is my cue to leave Lizzy. Be kind to your deskmate and I will be here to pick you up for lunch." "I will try. See you then." Elizabeth replied with a smile. Nick kissed her one last time before he left as well. He hadn't walked far when the second bell rang and he was forced to hurry his pace. Elizabeth laughed as she watched him. She walked to the entrance of her classroom and pulled the stammering Jenny inside with her. "What are you talking to yourself for so early in the morning?" "Jason is getting bolder by the day, but then again who am I telling this. You are even worse." Elizabeth chuckled and said, "Don't hate us, because you ain't us". "Ha ha ha ha, sure that is what it was. I will keep my jealousy in check." Jenny replied. Though what Elizabeth had said and done wasn't much, it was enough for Jenny to forget and revert to her normal self. While they took a seat next to each other, the teacher walked in.

"Welcome everyone, welcome to your senior year. I am Mr. Johnson and I will be your homeroom teacher as well as your English teacher for this year. If you have any problems, you can come to me or you can find your class representatives. Which reminds me that we still have to appoint those and we will do so right after we decide on the seating chart. This year instead of having you move for each class, the teachers will be moving. So, we will be working with fixed seats and I want boy - girl couples. I especially asked for an even number of boys and girls in my class especially for this. That way the girls will spend less time chatting and the boys less time goofing around. A win - win if you ask me. So, I ask all the girls to place your names in this box. Once you are done each of the boys will grab a name from the box, which will determine who you are seated next to for this term. Next term we will draw again."

The entire time the teacher was speaking Jenny and Elizabeth were looking at each other in disappointment. They had planned to be seated next to each other this year as they only knew each other, or the only one she liked in Elizabeth's case, in this class. This announcement had ruined their plans and even worse, it broke one of the promises Jenny had made Jason and she did not look forward to telling him.
