Fit of anger

Jenny looked at how calm Jason seemed as he was explaining everything. He still seemed like he didn't care at all. The only thing he cared about was that it had caused a fight between the two of them. Not what he had done to max or how it had affected his father's company. Just like how cheaters are sorry they are caught, not because they cheated. If Jenny hadn't caught him 'in the act' he wouldn't have been sorry at all and this caused her to be even more annoyed with him and made her even more unwilling to believe what he was telling her.

"There you go again. 'Shady as they come'. Why do you have to say such things? How is that proof to claim his relationship is fake? They are inseparable in school, maybe they are that way at home as well. You and I have been together for almost a year, but I think that the number of messages between us can be counted on two hands. Does that mean our relationship is fake as well? Does that mean we don't love each other? If so, let me know so that I can be aware that that is what determines if a relationship is real. Maybe they paid for their dates with the credit cards in their parents names, so it cannot be traced back to them or maybe they spent most of their time till now at each other's homes. After all they have been together for less than a month. You know that this proves nothing. You are just trying to use this as a reason to make me distrust him like you do, to keep me away from him. I just don't get why you are so determined to keep him away."

Jason sighed. He had said and done all he could to explain the situation to Jenny but she insisted on defending him. Seeing he couldn't reach her no matter what and she wasn't willing to look at the evidence he had for herself, even if that evidence was quite slim, he finally gave up. With his hands in his hair and hurt in his eyes he said, "How can you be so willing to trust him, but not me? Don't you think I deserve your trust before him?" As he spoke the hurt slowly blew over into annoyance born from a sense of helplessness. "You know what, fine. Do what you want. You won't listen to me anyways, so why should I continue to bother to explain. All it seems to do is anger you further and give you ammo to attack me. So right now, I don't care anymore. I love you and your loyalty towards your friends, but he shouldn't be one of them. Since you won't listen to me I will wait for you to see his true colours on your own. When you rediscover whose words should mean more to you, you can come find me."

Jenny gasped and in a fit of anger said, "So that's it? Do what you want? You don't care anymore?! Fine, I will!" With that Jenny got up, grabbed her phone and bag and walked out. Though she had walked out in anger, deep down she understood what Jason had meant. She too could see that they were getting no where at the moment. One of them had to give in. Either he would have to see that Max could be trusted or she had so see what made Jason distrust him so badly. A thing like a truce didn't work for a situation that they had to face daily. As she walked out the front door, she started wondering where she should go. She had grabbed one of the carts by the door and had started driving towards the gate. She had no destination in mind but she was determined to leave the premises. When she arrived at the gate, she realized what she had been wearing and figured that her options were limited.

In the end she didn't get very far and wound up at one of the hotels belonging to the Westwood family. She did not want to sleep in the same bed as Jason while they were feeling like this, but she didn't want to bother one of their friends again as she felt that this was going to last more than just a day. So, she decided to check into a suite for the moment. Though the people at the front desk looked at her funnily when she walked in dressed the way she was, when they saw the card Jason had given her, they didn't ask any questions and quickly checked her into one of the finest rooms they had. Having checked in under her name here and with the card she had been given by Jason, she knew that Jason himself would get a notification of any payment made with that card. This way her whereabouts would be revealed and he and her in-laws would know that she was safe. She might be angry, but she wasn't a small child. She could distance herself from the situation, but she shouldn't worry the people who cared about her. When she was settled in, she sent Jason a message as well. "You have probably already gotten the notification, but I have decided to check into a hotel for now. I think you and I need to take a break for the moment until we can resolve this matter. I don't know how long this will last, but I wanted you to at least know I am fine."

and here is chapter number two. Tomorrow I will be back with two more chapters!
