Fighting the wave

As Jenny stepped outside, she found Harry kicking some grass by one of the bushes. The garden was completely empty except for the two workers standing by the doors of the hall, making it the perfect place for her and Harry to talk. Jenny took a deep breath before walking to Harry and face the music. Hopefully Harry would be able to see her intentions and wouldn't be too mad at her. As she stepped next to him, Harry turned around and asked her "How could you invite Julia here?! What were you thinking?! What, did you think it would be funny? Did you think I would be okay with it, just because I agreed to let you talk to her? You didn't even give me a heads up! Why would you invite someone to your engagement, when you have know her for less than a week?!" "Harry I know you are angry and you have every right to be angry, but I would like to ask you to hear me out till the very end and if you still feel the way you do now, I will ask Julia to leave." Harry did not answer, but he didn't reject Jenny either. Instead he sat down on one of the benches next to them and placed his head on his arm with an unhappy expression. Jenny took this as a sign of acceptance and hesitantly sat down next to him before starting to talk.

"I have only know you and Julia for a very short period of time, so I might be way off with what I am about to say and I know that I am probably way out of line, but I wanted to at least try. I want to give you the same chance at happiness you had given me way back when. I hope you don't think that I am doing this just to pass some time, I really think there is a chance for things to work out between you guys. If I thought it was hopeless from the start, I wouldn't have gotten myself involved. From what I have seen, you are both kind and loving people and I think that possible misunderstandings from the past are holding you back. So if possible, I would like to see if those misunderstandings could be resolved." Harry remained determined as he let out a "ché" and mumbled "misunderstanding my ass". Jenny ignored it and continued. "From what I came to understand your main issue with Julia, is the betrayal of accepting the arranged marriage. Something you were very much against and was the main reason you never gave things between you guys a chance. Julia was never a potential partner in your eyes, because she was the girl your parents had chosen for you. The situation at hand raises a few questions in me. You see, I get being against an arranged marriage, I get cutting someone from you life after they have betrayed you and I even get not being able to say no to your parents. -"

"-However, once you have accepted your fate, once you decided to go through with the engagement and marriage, why are you still putting up such a fight? Why not try and see if there could be a positive side to this all? What if I told you that the betrayal you speak of, was nothing more than miscommunication fueled by a girls imagination. A girl in love. What if I told you, sometimes our parents manage to pick the right person for us. After all, I was someone that Jason's parents had chosen for him. Aren't we proof that parents can be right? Ask yourself this, what do you have to lose by giving things between you and Julia a shot? Worst case scenario, you end up where you are right now with hopefully a bit less anger towards her. She might even see for herself during your time together that you are not suited for each other and call off the engagement. So instead of fighting the wave, why not relax and go along with it. Who knows what you will find once you reach the shore?" Finally Jenny saw that Harry's anger had subsided, she had even managed to grab his attention. Now that he was listening and thinking about what she had said, Jenny grabbed her chance to try and fulfill the promise she had made to Julia. "I know you have many questions right now and I have given you a lot to think about, but there is only so much that I can answer for you. In order for you to be able to see the full picture, I hope you would be willing to allow Julia to tell you her side of the story and answer some of your questions. I think you might want to hear what she has to say before you make a decision."

Harry was still silent and just as Jenny was about to try and convince him some more, he nodded. Jenny needed a second to process what had happened before she jumped up in excitement and ran towards the hall without any regard for her high heels or what would happen to her beautiful dress, should she fall. Once she opened the door, her eyes met Julia's, who had been anxiously staring in that direction from the moment Jenny had left to talk to Harry. When she saw Jenny's expression, she ran towards her without saying anything to the boys, who looked up from their conversation in surprise. "Did you really do it? Is he really willing to hear me out?" Jenny nodded with a smile on her face to the overly excited Julia, who was holding her hand with way too much force from excitement. Without saying another word, Julia exited from the door and headed over to have her long anticipated talk with Harry. Jenny at her turn was surprised as well, because it seemed like another unfamiliar face was standing by Jason and George. Who could this stranger be?

As promised, a double release for today. Though I meant to introduce both unexpected guests in this chapter, I wanted to do one of the other main characters justice. I will try to publish some more tomorrow to let you know who the stranger is and what happened between Julia and Harry. I hope you enjoyed the publications for today and I that you will join me again tomorrow. For now I wish you all a good night!

Let me know if you have any suggestions or if you see any mistakes :)
