Faring well

Before Jenny knew it their promised time of romance had passed. Making her feel that a week was much too short. Everyday she and Jason would make sure to take a swim and work on their tan on the boat, docking at a different part of the shore of England to have dinner in another amazing restaurant and visiting one landmark after another. Now they were on their way back to Westwood mansion and as they got closer the thought of their trip being too short was slowly being replaced by the desire to see her son again. Because being a week away from him was certainly not too short. As she was thinking about the people back at home, Jason was still busy talking to her while driving. When a response from her side continued to stay absent, Jason was forced to pull some of his attention away from the road.

From the corner of his eye Jason saw that Jenny was a bit distracted as she was staring out of the car window with a blank expression on her face, confirming his suspicions that something was off. So, as he was driving them back home he asked, "What's on your mind? You are a bit too quiet for comfort." Jenny blinked as she was woken from the trance she was in before she turned towards the person who had forced her out of it. "I am feeling a bit anxious about what I will find once we arrive back at Westwood mansion. Aren't you?" Jason shrugged his shoulders as his eyes remained fixed on the road, "No, not really. Your mother and my mother are both there. So, I am sure Charlie is well taken care of and that your mother is doing well at it. After such a long time you should really start having faith in her abilities to look after our son." Though Jason knew that this wasn't what she meant, the best way to stop Jenny from feeling down or worry about needless things was to make her annoyed or amused. This way he could combine the two.

Jenny nudged him as she rolled her eyes, "I am not worried about my mother either. Charlie has long since accepted her and she has taken care of him in the first few months after he was born but I do wonder how my brothers fared with Charlie. Do you think he has accepted them?" Jason tried to hide his smile as he forced out his reply as normally sounding as possible. "Oh that?! You should have been more clear in your wording then. Is it my fault that I misunderstood the meaning behind your words." Jenny rolled her eyes once more as she let out a tired sigh with crossed arms. Wondering what she should do about the silly man she had agreed to spend her life with. Meanwhile Jason had properly gotten rid of the laugh that was on the verge of escaping from his lips before he continued his reply.

"But...I am sure that they were able to get along just fine. Since you all posses that family trait of stubbornness, I am sure that your brothers have tried and tried again till our son had no other choice but to accept their presence and attention. Wearing Charlie down is a perfect strategy while he is still in a phase where he cannot escape a situation on his own and your mother certainly wouldn't assist him. So, after so many days together I am sure that they have learned to form proper uncle and nephew bonds." Jenny let out another soft sigh, relaxing the tension in her crossed arms and her expression falling into a worried one. "I sure hope you are right. My brothers might posses the family trait but our son does too. So, this is a battle of who has the most endurance and give out first." Jason let out a quiet exhaled laughter as he tried to imagine their battle of endurance during the past few days and he too started to get excited at the thought of returning home. As he too had become quite curious about whether his brothers-in-law had been faring well against his witty and stubborn son during their days away.

Not too long after this conversation the moment of truth had arrived and they would finally be able to receive an answer to the question that had occupied their minds for most of the latter half of the ride back. With rushed steps Jenny walked up the short stairs leading to the front door and was let inside by Garry. After a quick greeting she rushed inside to see her son, leaving behind an amused Jason who was laughing softly while following her steps towards the living room. As the staff carried their bags inside and up to their room, Jenny and Jason had crossed the living room and had arrived at the backyard where Charlie was happily playing in the grass field surrounded by brightly coloured flowers. There he was joined by all three of her brothers who seemed to be the cause of Charlie's amusement, while Mary and Susan were sitting by the side on a bench. Chatting away despite the limitations imposed by their language barrier.

Here we are with the chapter for today and tomorrow. I will try to finish up friday's chapter tomorrow morning before the procedure and after that I probably won't be posting another chapter until the weekend.

Thank you all for understanding and next week will be another week of alternating double and single chapter releases. I hope you look forwards to it and I wish you all a good night for now and sweet dreams!
