Determination

The moment the rooftop door closes, Jenny slumps down as her legs don't have the strength to hold her body up anymore. Once her body hits the roof tiles, a warm stream of tears starts falling down her face. She starts to cry till her breath is erratic and she stays there until there are no more tears for her left to cry. She rubs her sore wrists, which Jason had held too tightly in his moment of anger. Though she had a zero tolerance policy for aggressive behaviour, she told herself that she would forgive him this once for being this way with her as she had probably hurt him a lot more than this. She had sat there for a full hour before she forced herself to get back up. She wiped the traces of her tears that were still on her face and patted the dirt from her clothes for the second time today.

After that her saddened expression made place for one of determination. Regardless of how she felt about how he was behaving at the moment, it showed that he still cared. Otherwise he wouldn't have been so affected by her return. Plus, Julia had told her that he had been searching for her non-stop ever since she had left. All she needed to find out now was why he was rejecting her so strongly, when it was clear that he still loved her. She returned to the Westwood residence where she would think of a plan of action to have Jason accept her once more. When she arrived there, most of the staff appeared shocked to see her standing in the hallway.

The only person that had been aware of her return, had been Garry, who greeted her as if she had returned home after a long journey. She had contacted him when she got onto the plane as she needed to have a place to hide and for that she would need an accomplice. She had spent all her money on the ticket and would have no money to spend on a hotel room or something. That was why he had answered Jason's question that morning in such an evasive manner. Something that he felt quite guilty about, but he had made Jenny a promise and he wanted to give them their best chance at making things work out. He had come to love Jenny like his own daughter and it was clear to everyone that Jason still loved her very much. How could he not root for the reunion of two people he cared for so deeply. Even if it would turn him into the bad guy for a moment, he needed to help them in whichever way he could.

"Did you sleep well miss Jenny?" Jenny nodded in reply to Garry's question. "Did you get a chance to talk to the young master yet?" Jenny shook her head with a saddened smile on her face. "No, I am afraid he isn't willing to talk to me yet. But I won't give up. He can't ignore me forever." Garry patted her shoulder lightly to encourage her. "It will all work out in the end miss. I am sure of it." "Thank you Garry. Let's hope so." After their brief conversation Jenny returned to the guest room and thought of what to do next as she waited for Jason to return and only came out when she needed a change of environment. Hoping that she would feel inspired if she set her mind to something else for a moment.

When Jason came home later that day it was clear that he was still determined to ignore her. He walked passed her, who was watching TV in the living room, as if she was a ghost or invisible. At one point even going as far as sitting on top of her before saying "Hmm, what a lumpy couch this has become. I should replace it." and moving to another spot. But even after he moved, he still put his feet on her lap as he took the remote that had been placed beside her. He changed the channel to something else, ignoring her protests that she was watching something and that it was almost finished. He sat in that position for about thirty minutes as he watched some meaningless TV, before getting up and turning the TV off.

But that wasn't all that he did that day, he purposely made food for himself. Cooking things he knew she loved, showing off what he had prepared before her, eating it all as slowly as possible, while he made it clear that he had only made enough for one person. Even when he was done eating and he had plenty left over to share with her, he threw it out right in front of her. Saying things like, "Too bad there isn't anyone here to finish this. Now I have to throw it away. Such a waste." Just to rub it all in her face that she wouldn't be able to enjoy his cooking. Feeling herself get annoyed at his petty behaviour she went back into her room to study. Because she had left before she could take the exams, she had to take the re-exams, which were taking place three weeks from now. When Jason saw that she had returned to her room, he stared at her door with a glum expression. He grabbed his laptop and tried to get some work done, but he couldn't get himself to concentrate. Making him give up and try to get some sleep as his head had started throbbing.

Here is the fourth chapter of this day. I wanted to publish a fifth one, but that chapter is connected to the chapter after that. So, that will have to wait till tomorrow. I hope you enjoy regardless :D
