Defend myself

The student was in shock and couldn't believe what was happening. His eyes were completely focused on Jason and looked like they were about to pop out from their sockets. He didn't even notice Jenny coming near him and taking place on the chair next to his bed. She started speaking, but he barely heard Jenny's words. It wasn't until he felt her hand on his arm and looked in her direction that he started to calm down a bit. He saw Jenny's calming smile and was finally able to slowly absorb what was happening. He now saw Jason's actual body language. That which he had mistaken for anger, was simply a light annoyance. He was standing side ways with his hands in his pockets, still wearing his school uniform. Looking outside the window, mumbling some words and stealing glances of the girl sitting next to him. Now sound was coming through as well and he was hearing Jenny's voice. She was speaking calming and apologetic words. Judging from the words she was using, she was explaining what the reason was for what happened to him. He had accepted it as faith, just him being the guy who was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Something that had happened to many before him at Mountforth High. Never did he expect to receive an apology nor such a thoughtful gift. Though given with reluctance, it was more than he could have hoped for.

"So, I guess what I am trying to say is that we are very sorry. I hope you can forgive us for dragging you in our fight. If there is anything you need, don't hesitate to tell me. I will make sure Jason takes care of it as a way to apologize for what he did." Though he wasn't planning to ask for anything, but if he was, the temperature dropping in the room was enough to tell him that he shouldn't get too greedy. So he quickly assured Jenny that this was enough and thanked her for visiting him. Instead of letting the visit end on a good note, he accidentally mentioned that he was better off than the victim from a few months ago, who was still in the hospital now and was in fact lying in the room next to him. This earned him a deathly glare from Jason, who knew that this would ensure him another lecture and another visit to the hospital. Which in turn meant another hour that could be spent having fun with Jenny, spent buying another gift and visiting some other guy he didn't even know the name of. His glare was met with one from Jenny, when she heard of there being another person who was hurt this badly by him.

Jason quickly hid his glare by looking away. He tried to divert the attention by very obviously pretending to be distracted by something on the ceiling. Even pointing to a random spot and mumbling to himself. Jenny shook her head, wished the student a quick recovery and as predicted went to the hospital gift shop to prepare for another visit. The student was still in awe of what had happened and was wracking his brain trying to figure out who the pretty girl was. He had become quite interested in her, especially considering she was able to bring Mr. Westwood himself here. She must be quite an impressive person. As he was thinking about this, he started browsing his phone. He decided to look at the forum on the school website and after seeing the picture that was the hot topic of the day, he thanked the heavens he wasn't stupid enough to ask for her number. The picture showed the girl in question, walking down the halls hand in hand with Mr. Westwood. He didn't know what she was to him, but he knew at least that she was off limits to him!

After another two hours and another student in shock, the two finally arrived back home. They planned to finally relax and spend some quality time together, but were met with Susan and Stephen who had been waiting for them in the dining room. Susan had told Stephen about what had happened today at school and though he thought that it was best if they stayed out of the kids business, especially now that their relationship with Jason was finally improving, he was a proud believer of "Happy wife, happy life!". So if it made her happy, he would support his wife and if what the children were up to affected his wife's happiness, he would set them straight. As soon as they stepped inside the food filled room and sat down to eat, Susan tried bringing up the subject. "Jenny, today I heard that Elizabeth was kicked out of your classroom. Apparently she had said something to you and this caused Jason to go off at her. Jenny could you please forgive her. I have known her for many years and I promise you she is a good girl. I am sure that whatever she said to you, she didn't mean it that way. You don't want to come across as the type of girl who gets jealous of the female friends of their partner, right dear?"

"Really... I have to defend myself again?" Jenny said with a sigh. "Tell me mother, am I really that wrong for not wanting the woman who has tried to kiss my fiance to not be around him! Better yet, why am I getting the blame for something Jason did?! Fine, if everyone believes that Elizabeth should be allowed back, then do what you want. I won't say another word about it. I have no say in what Jason does or who he hangs out with, so from now on I will leave it in his hands!" After saying these words, Jenny left the dining table and headed upstairs. She was followed by Jason who shot his parents an angry look before briskly "excusing" himself from dinner. Susan had not expected this reaction. She thought Jenny was simply a bit jealous or feeling insecure because of Elizabeth. Never did she think that Elizabeth had tried to kiss Jason even after knowing he was engaged. She should have listened to Stephen and stayed out of their business. She felt Stephen grabbing her hand and give her an encouraging squeeze, while her mind was filled with thought of how she could fix the mess she had created. Sigh..

Well this is it for tonight. I hope you enjoy and I will probably publish again on Saturday. Enjoy for now and till next time!
