Deer caught in headlights

Jenny was gone for almost two hours, but luckily she was able to find a swimsuit she liked. When she came home, she turned upstairs to put the newest addition to her wardrobe in her suitcase when she saw something on her bed. Something she thought she would never see again. Laying wide spread on the bed was the pink gown she thought was ruined. She came closer to the bed to see if it wasn't just a dream or a figment of her imagination. She went over the material with her hand and lifted the first layer of the skirt. It was amazing, as if this was a brand new dress, not a trace of the stain was in sight. As she lifted the dress and held it in front of herself, like she had done the first time she saw this dress, she fell in love with it all over again. She figured this must have something to do with the man she was in love with for quite some time now and placed the gown down gently before walking over to his room. She knocked, but didn't wait for an answer and opened the door. With no hesitation she skipped over to his side. The sound of the knock and the door opening caused Jason to turn around and before he had the chance to react Jenny jumped in his embrace.

She placed multiple kisses on his cheeks, nose and lips before letting go of the chuckling and pleasantly surprised Jason. "I take it you like our little surprise?" "Like it? I love it! Is the other half of that 'our' Paolo? How did he manage to get that stain out?" "Paolo worked really hard on that. He had to bleach the dress and redye it layer by layer until he got it back to the original color. It took him multiple days, because after each dye he had to wait for it to dry so he could compare it to the original color. All his dresses are unique, so he isn't exactly used to remaking a dress. It was delivered like an hour ago." "Well he did an amazing job. That is for sure. I should send him a 'thank you' gift or something. Can you give me his number? I want to at least tell him thank you myself for all his work until I find something suitable to send him." "Are you asking me for the number of some other man right now?" Jason looked at Jenny with squinted eyes and a serious expression. "Ha ha ha. Honey you do know that Paolo is gay right? I don't anyone will get the wrong message if I call him to say thank you. Even jealousy should have some bounds" Jenny said as she chuckled and patted him on the back. Now that she had finally let go of him she saw the mess on his bed. It seemed Jason hadn't exactly been successful in packing. She saw a bed filled with clothes and things he apparently wanted to take along, but nothing had actually made it into the suitcase that was laying open on the chair next to the bed. She sighed and decided to help him after dinner, that was the least she could do after getting such a kind surprise.

She pulled Jason downstairs to the dining room, where Stephen and Susan were already waiting for them. They chatted away and it was a back and forth between them asking questions about how their vacation had been and they in turn asking about their plans during their week away. Dinner lasted quite long and it wasn't until the sky was completely dark that Stephen and Susan left for their wing. Jenny let out a short sigh before getting up off her chair and saying to Jason "Let's go. We still have a bag to pack." "Yeah, you are right" Jason sighed and reluctantly followed her out the dining room and up the stairs to his bedroom. After Jenny turned her back to him, a small smirk appeared on his face because he had succeeded in having her pack his suitcase. He hated packing suitcases, he never managed to make everything fit whereas Jenny could fit an entire closet in a purse if she had to. She would fold one item and have another laid out flat so she could make use of all the nooks and crannies of a suitcase or bag. It was damn near impressive.

They were up well into the night packing Jason's bag, so when the alarm went off at eight in the morning neither of them was very happy or in the vacation mood yet. Regardless of how tired they were, they dragged themselves out of bed and quickly washed up. Jenny did a last check to see if she hadn't forgotten anything, before placing her toiletries in and closing up her bag. After that she went into Jason's room and wanted to do the same for him. However he had stayed in bed a bit longer than she did and had just finished showering when she had walked into his room. So when she turned to the bathroom door to tell him to bring his toothbrush with him, he walked out wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. Despite growing up with three brothers, Jenny was quite shy when it came to her own guy. She turned away abruptly without finishing her sentence and instead stammered a few incoherent words. It seemed Jason's good physique had thrown her off her focus and turned her into a shy maiden. Jason did not hold back at all when he laughed at her reaction. Jenny always knew how to turn a day around for him. He was in quite a foul mood due to his lack of sleep, but that all vanished the moment he walked into this. "Hahaha good thing we got your first reaction out of the way in private. You looked like a deer caught in headlights. Hahaha. What would happen if the first time you had a full look was when we would go for a swim or a day at the beach?"

Jenny turned around with a fiery expression, ready to retort. "Oh yeah, well let's wait and see how you will respond when you see me in my sexy new bathing suit." As she was struggling to get this one sentence out without stammering, stuttering or looking at his impeccable abs, she decided to save herself from anymore humiliation and walked away beet red. Jason couldn't even focus on the words she had said, because he was gasping for air from laughing too much at her facial expressions, her clear struggle with looking him in the eyes and her stubborn nature. However the saying goes, (s)he who laughs last, laughs best!
