Dancing in the rain

Jason looked up at Jenny and said, "Why?". Jenny responded by turning her phone to show him the messages. It seemed them not being in the same class had not gone unnoticed. Once George had thrown it into the group, everyone immediately responded.

George: "Am I seeing this right? Jenny and Jason, are you guys no longer in the same class?"

Nick: "They must have made a mistake. With a mother as the principal, how could our jealous, Jenny doting, Jason have allowed Jenny to be placed in a different class."

Harry: "Now that Julia and I are in the same class, are you telling me that another couple of our group got separated?"

Elizabeth: "No, George is right. Jenny is in my class. I was surprised as well, but it was a welcome surprise. So, don't you dare take her away from me Jason! Now that I don't have Nick by my side, I at least deserve to have a female friend in my class. You guys spend way too much time together anyways. ;)"

Nick: "Don't worry babe, we still have our after-school dates ;) "

Julia: "Oh no! I had hoped that we would have our group complete for our final year. I guess it was a long shot. :( "

Elizabeth: (❤´艸`❤)

George: "How are we only finding out now? It must be because we haven't hung out as a group all summer. I propose dinner tonight. Everyone has to be present! You can come and eat at my place. My parents are out of town anyways. That way we can catch up and grill the main people who aren't responding and have kept this news from us!"

After this message all agreed and after they had agreed on a time to meet up, Harry ended their conversation with a "Jenny and Jason, you have to be there. No backing out allowed!". With that the decision had been made for them.

After reading all the messages he said, "Humph, look at him getting cocky. Thinking he can tell me what to do." before looking back up at Jenny, who was still in his arms, and saying, "But I guess they were going to find out in a few days' time anyways. I don't want their annoying questions and pitiful looks when school starts, so I might as well get this out of the way now." Jenny let out an almost silent short laugh by exhaling through her nose at his reaction and played with Jason's hair as she said, "We haven't spent any time with them for weeks. It will be fun to see everyone again." "I guess." Jason said with a slightly sad smile. Jenny dropped her hands on Jason's shoulders and said, "Oh come on. It will give you the chance to cheer up or at least a deadline." and gave him a wink. Winking not being a talent of Jenny, forced Jason to let out an unwanted laughter before letting out a sigh as he accepted the reality. He thought to himself that luckily it was still morning, so he had some time to sulk before it was time to leave.

"Fine I will cheer up, but I need something from you in return." Willing to do anything at the moment to help Jason get over the class list thing, Jenny was intrigued by his words. She looked at him and with a determined look on her face she said, "Oh? If there is something I can do or give you, I will do it. So, whatever it is, tell me and I will. Get. It. Done!" Jason smiled and pointed up at his head. "I really liked you running your fingers through my hair. Do that till I tell you to stop." Jenny's serious face broke into a smile as she held out her hand and said, "Deal!". "My mom used to do this to me when I was feeling down or had trouble to sleep. Instinctively I did the same to you because I wanted to comfort you. I am glad that it helps. I will do this for however long you want me to and whenever you want me to."

They changed their positions to get more comfortable and ended with Jenny sitting on the pillow bench in the windowsill while leaning back against the wall with her legs stretched out in front of her. Jason was lying on top of her legs, with his face up on the lower part of her stomach, while his arms were wrapped around her waist. With closed eyes, he let Jenny pamper him for a moment as he enjoyed the warmth of the sun on his back. After a while he dozed off and Jenny could feel his breathing slowing down. A loving smile appeared on her face as she watched him sleep. Jenny continued to stroke the back of his head gently and looked out of the window as she did.

Jason had been lying on her legs for about an hour, when she started feeling them grow a bit numb and saw the weather outside slowly change. The weather in England was very unpredictable. It could be sunny one moment and rain pouring down the next. The sky started to turn dark, so dark you would think it was becoming night-time, even though it was just past noon. Suddenly the sky broke and rain started pouring down heavily. Jenny had always loved the rain. She loved watching the rain, she loved playing in the rain on hot summer days and loved the smell of the world after the rain. Even as a kid she would grab an umbrella whenever it was raining hard and would go outside for a walk. The deserted streets, the pitter patter of the rain on her umbrella and looking up at that mystical sky. She would pretend to be able to control how hard the rain was falling down and was always fascinated by how the sky could be so clear one moment and turn so dark just seconds after. It seemed like magic to a young mind. Especially the days when she saw rain on one side of her house and clear skies out the other window. Fascination grew into love and it had never disappeared since. Having had such sunny weather for the past few weeks, she felt like dancing in the rain!
