Conversation on a tree trunk (1)

As Jenny was contemplating whether to give Jason a second chance, Jason was standing a few meters away from the two. He was of course left in the dark to what was happening, because he could not understand a word of what they were saying. Seeing the girl's shoulders drop from their high arched position, gave him hope that she might be changing her mind for the better. Maybe the assumingly defending words her mother spoke, had given him a second chance to a first impression. Jason began to get hopeful as he watched the situation further unfold. Not daring to get closer as to not anger the girl any further. Suddenly the girl turned around with a fierce glare and started walking towards him. Her hands still crossed in front of her chest, she said "My mother might have talked me into letting you explain yourself, but this does not change what you have said and done. So, if you really want a chance to prove that you are truly sorry, you had better come with a good story! Because a second chance is something you have to earn yourself". After saying this, she turned around once more and started walking back to the pond. Jason wasted no time and followed her, while thinking of what he was going to say to her. She was clearly still angry, but that was to be expected. For now he was happy that she was willing to hear him out.

While all of this was taking place, Susan had gotten tired of waiting and decided to see the progress of this situation for herself. As she was driving towards the gate, she saw they hadn't gotten far. When she got closer, she saw that Jenny and Jason were talking. Judging by their faces and their tone of voice, she could tell that they hadn't reached the point of making up. They started relocating towards the pond and Mary was giving them some space by moving to the golf cart. When Susan was spotted by Mary, they waved to one another. This scene gave Susan hope that this incident could possibly be still be resolved. She did not want to disturb the conversation of Jenny and Jason, so she went to Mary to ask her what the current situation was. Luckily she had downloaded an app on her phone to help her with the translations back and forth. It wasn't perfect, but at least they could understand each other. Mary filled Susan in with the occurrences of the past few minutes and as they continued their conversation, on a tree trunk nearby the conversation between Jason and Jenny began.

Jason had quietly followed Jenny until their place of conversation was clear. As Jenny sat down on the old tree trunk, with her hands still crossed and an unfriendly expression on her face, she gave Jason the sign to start speaking. It was go time, but Jason didn't quite know where to start. So he started with the basics. "Let me begin by saying I'm sorry. As arrogant as this may sound, you are the first person I have ever apologized to. I am usually a really good judge of character. Today just so happened to be a day where I was already in a very foul mood and my experiences from the past have taught me that a girl around my age waiting for me by herself in a room isn't a good sign." As Jason said this, he sat down on a patch of grass in front of Jenny. "Despite not even having graduated from high school, I have met a lot of different people. Unfortunately the thing that these people had in common was their greed for money. As we became more wealthy, the number of people with bad intentions coming close to me grew. More than once have I entered a room and have a beautiful girl waiting for me. Some times dressed in barely more than a piece of lingerie. All they wanted was a chance to gain our fortune and they did not care by which means they got that chance." Hearing this, Jenny's expression softened a bit and her tightly crossed arms began to loosen. Jason hadn't looked her in the eye's after apologizing. He only looked up every now and then, showing his pained expression.

this is part one of Jason trying to gain Jenny's forgiveness. Part two is half way there, but will be published tomorrow or the day after that as it has become quite late and it is time to turn in.

Enjoy for now and let me know what you think of the story so far! Thanks for the support till now :)
