Confirming his suspicions

Jason sighed when Jenny stormed out of the room and buried his face into his knees as he had pulled his legs up. He looked at the room that suddenly seemed so big and wondered if he had made the right decision to give up. It hadn't been long since Jenny had left when he heard a knock on his door. Thinking it might be Jenny he got excited for a moment and rushed to open the door, but when he did, he came face to face with his father. "Oh..it's just you.." "Yes, thank you for that warm welcome. I love you too son." Jason rolled his eyes. He had enough of people misunderstanding him for one night, so he said, "You know what I mean. I thought you might be Jenny, she just stormed out of here."

Stephen nonchalantly said, "Ah, I thought I saw a girl resembling her board a buss near the house. So, it was her." Jason dropped his head as he placed the palm of his hand on his forehead. "A buss? Damn it, where does that woman plan on going? Does she have to make me angry and worried at the same time." Stephen looked at Jason calmly and spoke as if the situation didn't affect him at all. "Yes, women like that tend to have that effect on Westwood men. We love our women to death, but they also drive us mad. Welcome to the club my boy. But the real question is, how do you plan on fixing this mess that you even got me involved in. Your mother is worried about you two and I told her not to worry, because you will find a way to overcome this. Now do I have to tell your mother that what I told her is a lie or are you going to turn it into the truth?"

Jason looked up with a bruised determination and said, "Well to be honest, I tried my best, but she won't listen to me. Somehow I keep choosing the wrong words, making her even madder. So, for now I plan on waiting for her to see the nature of that little pest Max on her own. That will be more effective than any proof I show her or anything I tell her. She thinks I am biased towards him and that is why she doesn't trust my judgement. So, I will continue to watch her from a distance and let her discover how good of a 'friend' he is." While looking in the distance he continued. "Hopefully that won't last too long, because with these fights one after the other and her class representative tasks and now this part time job, my patience and endurance is being tested." Subconsciously he started balling one hand into a fist and grabbing onto the door handle with the other so tightly that his hand turned white. "That kid will be lucky if he makes it out alive after Jenny sees the kind of person his is and stops trying to protect him."

Stephen chuckled as he saw that his son had inherited his temper. "Good. At least you know when to advance and when to retreat. You saw that advancing backfired and you are now retreating. Waiting for the chance to pounce. We Westwood men are no quitters, so you had better put that patience and endurance of yours to the test. I don't want to hear about another incidence at school, because then you will definitely lose her. Right now she isn't thinking clearly and is simply focused on protecting her friend. Keep in mind that her fight with you isn't personal. She would have fallen out with anyone who pushed her, but you being the person she trust the most here, makes her reaction that more much more intense."

Stephen had just finished saying these words when Jason received notification of a charge being made with one of the cards under his name. Though it wouldn't give a signal for small purchases, the hotels under the Westwood name were all high class and a night in a simple suite would easily cost 5000 pounds and the price for a night in the presidential suite was in the tens of thousands. When he looked at the details, he saw that the transaction was made in a Westwood hotel not too far from the Westwood mansion. "Well it seems that the difficulty level of this test just got increased." He showed the bank notification to his father, who held back a chuckle at Jenny's boldness. He patted his son on the shoulder to comfort him and wish him luck, before letting him be by himself again. Not long after that Jason received Jenny's message confirming his suspicions. He sighed and taking his father's words in consideration when thinking of how to respond, he wrote 'Alright, thank you. Good night.'

After that he put his phone away and went into their bedroom. He looked at the bed that seemed so lonely and large and sighed again before he turned around. He went downstairs and had his dinner in front of the TV on the couch. Not wanting to go upstairs to that cold, empty room, he continued to sit in front of the TV until he fell asleep. The next morning Jason was woken by Garry when he came to start his shift, that was when he finally went upstairs. Garry was glad that someone from the night shift had placed a blanket over Jason after he fell asleep, otherwise who knew how cold he would have gotten during the night. Nobody else dared to wake him from the staff members other than Garry, so he was glad that he had decided to start early today. He was sure that Jason couldn't have slept well under such a thin blanket and worried for the days to come without their young miss Jenny. He didn't understand why these young people had to fight all the time when the only one it hurt was themselves. He sighed to himself, "I guess you need to reach a certain age to realize what is truly important in life and let go of the small stuff."
