Completely drenched

She patted Jason on his back as she tried to wake him, "Jace..Jace, wake up." A bit unhappily Jason forced his eyes open and mumbled "What's wrong..?". He was really enjoying the nap he had fallen into and the dream he was having. "Look outside!" With half opened eyes he turned to face the window and saw the heavy rain. "It's raining, so what?". "Doesn't it call to you. Let's go outside and enjoy it." Jason looked at Jenny as if she was crazy and asked "Are you serious? Why would you go outside when it is raining cats and dogs." "That is exactly when you should go out! Get up and let's go. Don't think and just do. I would always do this back at home during these heavy summer rains. Let all your worries wash away as we dance around in the rain. After that we can change and have lunch." Jason chuckled and said, "You are crazy". "Isn't that half the reason you love me?" Jenny asked as she moved her eyebrows up and down in a cheeky manner "Come on, get up and let's go before we are too late." Jenny said anxiously with a hint of excitement. Seeing that Jenny wasn't joking, Jason got up and followed Jenny as she dragged him through the hall and down the stairs by his hand, all the while he was shaking his head in disbelief.

They ran through the living room and Jenny opened the patio doors into the garden. With bare feet they stepped into the backyard and let the cold rain fall down on them. Once they were outside, Jenny let go of his hand and started twirling around as she lifted her closed eyes up to the sky to feel the rain drops fall on her face. With a big smile she turned back to Jason, who was still standing near the door not knowing what to do. Jenny grabbed both his hands and pulled him further into the yard. While stretching her body backwards, making her weight lean against his, she moved them round and round in circles. Jason couldn't pull his eyes away from this silly woman who had been completely drenched by the rain.

When Garry came into the living room and saw the opened doors, he walked to close them. This is when he saw Jenny and Jason outside. They were both laughing as they were playing in the rain. He smiled as he closed the doors. He was happy to see Jason like that. He had watched Jason grow up and had cared for him since he was a baby. As he got older, his smile and the light in his eyes had slowly disappeared, but now he was laughing without a care in the world and most of all laughing genuinely. Something he hadn't seen him do in a long time, till Jenny had come into his life. Garry closed the sheer curtains to hide them from other nosy eyes, before he walked away to continue his work.

In the backyard Jason had gotten fully absorbed into the rainy banter and Jenny's playfulness now that the initial awkwardness had worn off. Jenny had even pulled him into what seemed like a game of tag. With their difference in height and with that the difference in the length of their legs and the steps they could take, the odds were against Jenny, but she was a master at escaping. So slippery, making you think she was made of butter. The rain aiding in her fast moves. When Jason finally got a hold of her, he lifted her up in the air from behind before lowering her slowly and turning her to face him as he held onto her. They were both completely out of breath when Jason placed his forehead against Jenny's. They were letting out remnants of a laughter and catching their breaths as they stood in each other's arms under the dark sky. Jason looked Jenny into her eyes and they fell silent as she looked back at him.

Jenny knew what was about to happen. In fact she loved this moment. The moment just before Jason would kiss her. She could always feel a tingling sensation in her stomach and her heart would start pounding in her chest. She could feel that moment of a kiss being in the air by how Jason would always look deep into her eyes before he would make his move, absorbing all of her in those clear eyes of his. Making her feel like time was standing still. Making the places where his hands were touching at that moment, burn with sensation. And as she could feel one of his hands move up to her face, Jenny braced herself. She watched as Jason lowered the other half of his face. Her toes curling and digging into the grass, which relaxed after she felt his lips on hers. With the rain pouring down on them and creating a layer of water on the grounds surrounding them, Jenny and Jason started to kiss. No longer feeling the cold from the rain.

As the rain started slowing down, their lips broke loose and the sky started clearing up. The sun appeared from behind the once clouded sky and brightened up the garden. Making the drops on the grass and leaves of the trees and flowers, sparkle like rare diamonds. Still standing in the same spot as before, Jenny placed her hand on top of Jason's hand that was on the side of her face and looked him in the eyes. "Well, what do you think of your first dance in the rain? Did it help you cheer up? Did it make you fall in love with the rain as well?" Jason chuckled at the big smile on his drenched kitty and said "Uhn. If the rain didn't help, that last move of our dance surely would have." Jason said with a flirty look. "Now let's hurry inside before we get sick." Jason had to admit that the rain had helped wash away the negative thoughts in his mind and had cleared up his thoughts. The cold water was refreshing and now he could go to George's house worry free.
