Cliche

Jason and Jenny walked out hand-in-hand. They planned to go on the date Jenny had wanted yesterday, but didn't get to go on. Jenny wanted to have a very cliche date, like one you would read about in comics. Where they would wear matching outfits, share an ice cream, walk down the beach, look for sea shells or make sand castles. One where they would tease each other by splashing cold water on the other, allowing their clothes to get wet a bit as they chase each other in the waves. Cliches were cliches for a reason, it's because many people enjoyed them so they became a cliche.

So following Jenny's idea, they started off with a couple's outfit. Jenny was wearing an olive green dress, that stopped just above her knee, and had her hair died up in a cute bun. Jason had matched her by wearing dark shorts, a white t-shirt and a thin overshirt in the same color as Jenny's dress. Together they walked down the path leading them to the town below and the beach that came with it.

After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at a little ice cream shop near the beach. Jason had been the first to spot the fake large ice cream cone by the door and pointed it out to Jenny who was struggling a bit with the heat. "Look to your right Jenny, your first request can be granted" Jenny's eyes came to life again and lit up. This shop had come on their path at just the right time as they had gotten quite hot from the walk down. It was another bright, sunny day. The temperature was rising, making it a hot day. Luckily they were near the shore, which brought with it a refreshing cool breeze every once in a while. Otherwise it would have been very stuffy, making the twenty to thirty minute walk a lot more difficult. With new found energy they made their way to the entrance of the shop. They entered quickly and instantly felt more refreshed. Though the shop was busy, it had air conditioning, making it a lot cooler than the weather outside.

Jenny stood by the glass display and looked at the different flavors that were for sale. When the salesman asked her after a few minutes if she had made a decision, she shook her head to say 'no'. She looked over at Jason to see if he had been able to pick what he wanted. Seeing her hesitate, he lowered himself beside her. She repeated her question "Look at all the colors Jason. Do you know what flavors you want?" "I haven't looked yet. I was waiting for you to decide first. You have been standing here for quite a while now, do you really have no idea what you want?" "Well, it's not that I don't know, but more that there are too many to decide. There are at least ten flavors that I like, so having to pick just one or two is proving quite difficult." "Why settle for two?" Jason said as he pointed up at the different cup sizes the store offered. Jenny's excitement from what she saw was reflected in her eyes as she turned back to Jason and said "If I pick that one, will you share the ice cream with me?" Jenny's finger was pointing at the largest cup they had, which was called the 'Mount Everest'. It was better to call that cup a bucket, because a cup was an insult to that thing. It was huge and could hold up to 12 scoops of ice cream.

Jenny was always a strong eater and could eat plenty of men under the table. For desserts her appetite was even bigger. She always said things like 'I have a separate stomach for dessert' or 'Ice cream is basically a solidified drink, that won't fill you up no matter how much you have'. So seeing the excitement in her eyes and hearing the word 'share', he knew that probably meant that he would get a bite or two and the rest would be gobbled up by that petite creature with a black hole for a stomach. Determined to indulge every request of Jenny today and not say no to anything, he looked at that bucket and gave in with a small sigh and a nod of the head. That was all the encouragement Jenny needed. Like a rapid fire, she calls out the flavors she wants, one after the other. Practically forgetting any flavors Jason might want. It wasn't until there were only two scoops left to pick that she turned to him and asked if he wasn't going to pick anything. Jason didn't want to take away her fun, so he said that he would be fine with anything she would pick, as her choices sounded great so far. Jenny accepted this reasoning and filled in the two remaining slots.

After Jenny's 'cup' of ice had been filled to the brim, they went outside to enjoy it on the beach. Jason bought a beach towel at one of the stands by the shore and rented a parasol. He created a spot for them to sit as Jenny holds onto the ice cream. Jenny had already started tasting the first flavors and was clearly enjoying every bite. Once everything was ready, Jenny joined him down at the beach and sits next to him on the towel. She takes a bite of a flavor that has bits of chocolate mixed in. The pure chocolate is a bit bitter, but forms a good combination with the sweetness of the vanilla ice cream. Jenny turned to Jason "Wauw Jason, you should try this. This is a wonderful combo of bitter and sweet". Jenny is unaware that she has some ice cream left on her lips and is busy putting some of this flavor on a spoon for him to try when she feels his lips on hers. Being aware that she is in a public place, she says with a hissed and embarrassed voice "What are you doing?!" as she pushes him away and looks around to see if anybody saw them. Jason acts like he didn't do anything wrong and simply stares back into her eyes as he replies "You said I should have a taste, so I did. Though I didn't notice any bitterness. To me it was all sweet." He says with a cheeky smile, before grabbing one of the tiny spoons and grabbing a bit of one of the many scoops of ice cream Jenny was holding.

Here we go, the second chapter of the day. I hope you like it :D
