Change of plans

Jason arranged for the room that he had rented for a few hours to be changed into a reservation for the next two days. Asking them to close off the entrance to the spring and cancel any other reservations that might have been made for it till further notice. Lastly, he asked for them to arrange for a widespread dinner to be served on the deck overlooking the hot spring.

The staff member that had answered his call was quite surprised at his requests, but when the owner asked you to do something, you didn't ask questions and you simply did. He was simply happy that this request had come now and not during their busy season. Fortunately, they had a larger hot spring and a couple of more rooms with private hot springs. He would have to change the reservations for people with a longer stay to another day and for those that would be here for their last day, he would have to change it to another hot spring room. A few complementary gifts or a discount and most complaints could be avoided, but this was not how he expected this shift to go. And this when it was almost time for him to end his shift. He sighed, before he put on a serious face and got to work to get everything done. The longer he waited and felt sorry for himself, the more difficult it would become to get this done.

Jason returned to the water and acted as if there was nothing going on. Even playing it off as such when Jenny opened her eyes for a moment to ask him, "Was everything okay? You were gone for quite some time." He had told her that he just had to go to the bathroom for a moment and since he had revealed that he was going to pee, she expected him to return quite quickly. Jason smiled and brushed it off with a "Oh I checked my phone on the way back. I asked them to send me a message if they needed me to look at something or if they had any questions. While I had my phone in hand anyways, I decided to check on our reservation for dinner." While he was giving her an explanation with half truths, he grabbed hold of Jenny and pulled her close. As held her in his arms he both of them closed their eyes and enjoyed the warmth of the water until their food was brought in.

It was around seven when the food when a faint knock on the door could be heard and the door to the room where they had changed was opened. Two staff members from the hotel walked inside with two carts carrying different plates of food. Though Jenny appeared confused, Jason welcomed them with a nod and instructed them to place the food on the deck. Jenny turned to Jason, who seemed to know more about this arrangement, but he wasn't willing to explain until the food had been placed down and the two young men that had brought in the food had left. "Will you finally tell me what is going on here?" Jason still held on to her tightly as he said, "Nothing much. I just thought we could have our dinner here and enjoy some good food as we watch the sunset." Though she didn't mind having dinner here, she was confused about the sudden need for a change of plans. They were supposed to have dinner at the restaurant. He had helped her pick out an outfit and everything just before they had come down here. "What made you so fond of sunsets all of a sudden? Weren't we supposed to have dinner in the restaurant? If you wanted to eat here, there was no need for me to bring a change of clothes."

Jason looked at her questioning eyes and responded to her questions with a question of his own. "It's not the sunsets I am fond of, it's spending time alone with you. Is there a problem with eating here? I had the food of the restaurant we were supposed to go to delivered to our room. If you were looking forward to dressing up and going there, I don't mind having them take everything away and follow our initial plan." Jenny didn't really understand what was going in his mind, but she was done with sitting in the water and she had gotten quite hungry by now. So, she shook her head and started moving towards the edge of the water, where there was a small step to allow her to get out of the water. But before she had a chance to take even a step forward, Jason grabbed hold of her once more and suddenly lifted her up onto the wooden planks surrounding the spring.

Jenny let out a startled shriek before giving him a glaring look, only to face a bright an cheeky smile on his side. Jenny turned her face to the front and started moving towards the spot where the food had been stalled out for them to enjoy, followed closely behind by Jason, who was easily able to lift himself out of the water and onto the deck. As they sat down in the robes provided by the hotel, Jenny was immediately mesmerized by the food. Noticing nothing of the sunset that was playing out in front of them.
