Captain hindsight

As Jason rubbed the spot where Jenny's hand had landed he said, "Good. So, what has you thinking so deeply and asking these questions then?" "Well, with the weather being so good and with the forecast telling us that it will stay this way for at least the next two weeks, I thought about sending my brothers on a boat trip as well after we return. I don't think my mom will enjoy something like this as she gets sea sick easily but my brothers definitely will."

Jason pinched Jenny's nose, before bending over to place a kiss on it, before he said, "That sounds great. So, why are you looking so down then? If they don't have a license, we can just hire a captain to man the boat. That way they can still enjoy a trip like ours without any worries." Jenny rubbed her nose from Jason's pinch and was disappointed in herself for not thinking of such a simple solution herself. Even after being a part of the Westwood family for multiple years, she still hadn't gotten used to the rich life. Telling herself, "I guess you have to be born rich to think like the rich do." To Jason she just replied, "That sounds like a wonderful solution. Please do." with a warm smile. Jason saluted her as he said, "Aye, aye, ma'am. Your wish is my command." Causing them both to let out a soft chuckle as they continued to enjoy their sunny ride.

Once they arrived at the private island, Jenny saw that it was everything Jason had promised and more. As Jason helped her off the boat, lifting her off and placing her down gently in one single move. When her feet touched the sand, the warm grains started burning her already warm feet. Causing her to jump to safety as she laughed at her own fleeting pain. Jason, who had still been wearing his shoes, watched Jenny's acrobatic act with amusement as he tied the boat to the shore. "Why did you take your shoes off silly? The hot sun has been shining on this sand for hours. It was sure to be hot at the very least if not burning." Jenny just responded spitefully, "Thank you captain hindsight. Your services aren't wanted here. So, keep those words to yourself."

Jason chuckled as he looked at Jenny. It was as if he could see what he imagined must be her spirit animal. With an image of drawn claws and raised up hair, it was clear to him that he had angered his kitten. Once he was done with the boat he walked over to the bit of shadow where Jenny had found shelter and laid out the beach towels he had brought along. "There you go my princess. Now you may lie down in comfort." With a forced frown on her face and crossed arms, Jenny glanced over her shoulder and saw the laid down towels. When Jason turned around with his arms crossed behind his back, in order to allow Jenny to take a seat on one of the towels while keeping up her act of being angry, Jenny quickly stepped on the soft fabric and lifted her knees under the beach dress she had put on over her swimsuit.

While hiding her face under her sunhat she mumbled a "Thank you". Under a loud laughter Jason rubbed over her sunhat, ruffling up her hair, before he replied, "You are welcome my dear. I guess I haven't kept you fed well enough have you respond to my loving words like that." Only now noticing that she was indeed feeling a bit hungry. With flushed cheeks from her own embarrassment she said, "...I guess you didn't". After Jason let out a chuckle he walked back to the boat and grabbed some food from the pantry and another towel, which he planned to use as a blanket. In just a few minutes he had laid out the food on the third towel, between the two towels they would be sitting on and had created a romantic picnic for the two of them.

As Jenny started eating bits and pieces of what he had placed in front of her, she started becoming more cheerful and started to forget her words from before. Quickly pushing that tiny sour moment in the back and covering it up with the sweetness of the current moment, along with the tasty food and Jason's loving words that he never seemed to run out of. When the air started becoming more chilly and the sun started to set, they packed their stuff back up and went back onto the boat. Jason started it back up and put in the coordinates for their second destination. A wonderful seaside restaurant that he had placed a reservation for way in advance. Though he didn't know yet that they would be going on a trip like this but he did know that the term would end today. Because this was already their third year and their first year as parents, he had long intended to celebrate the end of another college year. Especially since this wasn't just the end of any year, but the end of the final year of their bachelor. A year that deserved a proper end and a proper feast! And a proper feast they would have. One that even the a person like Jenny, who wasn't fond of fish, would enjoy to the fullest. Not leaving behind a single bite or crumb.

Here we are with today's chapter. I will try to write a few chapters for the next few days tomorrow and will release them simultaneously tomorrow as well. Since I don't know what I will be able to do from wednesday until at least the start of the weekend.

Thanks again for understanding and I hope to see you all back here tomorrow!

My special thanks goes to Humaira_Jarjisa for showing her support in the comment section and for her kind words!
