Bring your A game

After holding Jenny for a few minutes, Jason placed a kiss on the top of her head and loosened their hug as it was time for them to return to the classroom. Jenny felt his movement and the disappearance of the warmth that was surrounding her. She looked up and saw the soft expression on Jason's face as he was looking down to meet her gaze. As if awakening from a dream, she was lost in the moment for a minute. "Have you stared enough my dear? It is time for us to start taking the second test." It was only now Jenny finally realized the position she was in and what she had done. With a slightly embarrassed expression and flushed cheeks she let go of him and turned away. Jason let out a soft chuckle before putting his hands in his pockets and heading towards the classroom as well.

The moment Jenny turned around she saw how the other students had taken their distance and were trying to look anywhere but here. She felt bad for giving them the pressure of Jason on top of the pressure they must have been feeling from the exams. As she looked to side she saw Harry giving Julia a fast kiss on the lips before returning towards their classroom and in the other direction she saw George talking on the phone, with one could only assume to be Sophia who was facing her own tests on the other side of the call. Jenny let out a final sigh before pumping herself up and entering the classroom to face her second test of the day. She was much more clearheaded and less nervous as she started the test. Though embarrassing, her hug with Jason had helped her calm down and refocus.

The second and third test of the day went by smoothly and Jenny was able to head back home with a smile. When they reached home she returned to her room and started to revise the materials for the tests of tomorrow. Now that she knew what kind of tests she had to face, she felt motivated to try even harder than she did yesterday. She was in the middle of studying when Jason entered her room. "How are you feeling now? You seemed very stressed earlier today, but I am guessing the other tests went better lifting your mood and worries?" Jenny smirked and confirmed. "Yeah, I don't know what came over me, but I am glad you were there. I really needed to calm down. In that setting with all those stressed and worried classmates I would not have been able to relax at all. Somehow all of that got lost the moment I held you." Jason was glad he was able to help her at that moment. "I am glad I was able to help and that you are feeling better. If you need help studying, don't hesitate to let me know. I can also highlight the parts that will most likely be on tomorrows test if you want. Whatever you need, whatever I can do, just tell me."

Jenny appreciated his gesture and stood up from her seat to express her thanks to this sweet man. She walked over to him, put her arms around his neck and stood on her tippy-toes as she gave him a soft kiss on his lips. She opened her closed eyes and put her feet back on the ground, while still holding onto his neck with one hand and rubbing the side of his face gently with the thumb of her other hand. "Thank you for offering..., but I want to overcome this on my own. I have always been an independent and stubborn woman, I am afraid that hasn't changed." Jenny's expression shifted from a gentle one to a teasing one as she let go and before continuing "... nor will it ever. Besides did you forget your words from before or mine? Now that I am on my way up you are trying to steal some of the credits by offering your help, aren't you?" She said as she gave him a side ways glance, her eyes filled with a sense of teasing. She wanted to defeat him. If she did so by using his help, it wouldn't feel the same. It took Jason a moment to realize what she had meant, but nodded when it came to him. "Very well. I will see what you will do. You had better bring your A game if you want to leave me in the dust." He ended with a taunting sentence to fuel her fire "If you need a shoulder to cry on afterwards, you know where to find me" Jenny threw one of the pillows at his head, but missed him as he used the door to block her attack. With a soft laugh he left and closed the door behind him.

The next few days they took one test after the other and with each passing day the group of friends got sick of being cooped up at home to study. So to reward themselves for a job hopefully well done, they decided to plan a holiday. They met up on the weekend after the tests. Everyone was present, including Sophia and Nick. Most of them already had plans for the first week of the break that would follow the exam week, but the second week was left free just in case they had failed to pass one of their exams. So they agreed that if all of them had passed their exams, they would go away for a week to have some fun before school would start again and Jason had the perfect place in mind! The Westwood's owned a large villa in southern Spain. The weather there was perfect and so was that house. It had multiple large rooms, fitting two to three persons each. They all had their own bathrooms and the house came with a large pool overlooking the sea as well as a built in barbecue. This would give them privacy, freedom and didn't require any reservations. So regardless of how soon or late they would know if they had passed, they would be guaranteed a sunny week away. Now all they had to do was wait for the results to come out!
