Blow off steam

After another week of studying the day of the re-exams had arrived and Jason dropped Jenny off for her first two subjects. Though she had prepared well for each of her tests, she couldn't help feel nervous. Not only were these her final school exams, she had missed a whole month of school just before these exams. Making her feel like she had a lot to catch up on. Jason sensed her nervousness by seeing how tense she was and squeezed her shoulders as he said, "You'll be fine. Don't worry about a thing and just do your best." He was doing fine till this point but then he added, "Before you know it, this week will pass by and you will be preparing for you entrance exams. Leaving you no time to worry about the results of these tests."

Jenny's eyes shot up with a hint of panic and a bit of anger. In her mind she was asking herself the question, 'Why would he bring the entrance exams up, when she was already nervous about this week's tests?!' But when she met with his eyes, that question was answered almost immediately. Jason was looking at her with a cheeky smile on his face. Making it clear that he was teasing her. He was hoping that her anger or shock would push out her nervousness and although she hated to admit it, it had. As she continued to glare at him, she headed into the exam room. Looking back a few times while she was walking into the classroom, to make sure he knew that this wasn't over yet. Yet, he seemed completely unbothered. Waving at her with a smile. Looking carefree as he stood there with one hand in his pocket. After she was seated and the door to the classroom was closed, he waved at her one last time from behind the glass before he headed out and went to the office.

The moment her exams were over, Jason was waiting for her in front of the school. Jenny sped towards him, having already forgotten that she was upset with him, and jumped into his arms with a big smile on her face. Her exams had gone great and the nervousness she had felt in the morning had completely dissipated and had been replaced by relief. "I see that your exams went well. Guess my little joke helped you loosen up, hmm?" Being reminded of this mornings events, Jenny shot him a quick glare before holding him tightly once more. "Yes they did and yes it did. So, thank you for that." Jason chuckled as he patted the back of her head. "Good. You looked so tense this morning. Your shoulders felt like I could break a brick on them. You weren't even looking at me as I was speaking to you. The quickest way to get your attention away from your worries was to anger you or embarrass you. You don't embarrass easily these days, so anger was all I was left with." This time it was Jenny that let out a chuckle as she heard Jason's explanation. After being recharged, they both got inside the car and headed back towards the office, where Jenny would prepare for her exams of the next day and Jason would continue his work.

This pattern continued for the remainder of the week as Jenny checked off one exam after the other. All the way till Friday and after her final exam of the week, Jenny had decided that she wanted to celebrate her being done with her re-exams with an evening out with their group of friends. She wanted to blow off steam before she had to lock herself back up for another three weeks of studying for her entrance exams. The others had been studying for the past month as well, having little to no time off, and were excited for a night of having fun with friends too. So, they immediately said 'Yes!' to her invitation and even Jason made sure to free up some time and join them.

When Jenny and Jason arrived at the lounge bar where they had agreed to meet up, the others were already waiting for them. They had reserved a private room and they were ushered in the right direction by one of the staff members. When they walked in, Jenny waved at the group as she walked over and she took her seat at one of the sofa's in the room. "Hello, hello! Did you guys wait long?" Julia shook her head, "No, Harry and I arrived five minutes ago and Lizzy and Nick arrived just now." With a chuckle she added, "Only Sophia and George were here for fifteen minutes or so, but they just like being early." Jenny laughed, "Good. I am glad we didn't keep you waiting for too long. I wanted to change out of my uniform before coming here." Jason took his seat beside her and put his arm around her. She grabbed his hand and intertwined their fingers without looking away for even a second as she continued to speak to their friends. "How have you guys been? I almost couldn't recognize you guys anymore. I feel like I haven't seen you in forever." Though the first answers were all about how they too had been busy with preparing for exams, allowing Jenny to chime in with a "Ugh, tell me about it. I can't look at another textbook anymore. Tonight I want to just eat, drink and forget about school and exams." But shortly after that, Sophia and George dropped a bomb that no one had expected!

Here we are with today's chapter! Tomorrow Sophia and George's bomb will be revealed. Though I have spoiled a part of the bomb a few chapters before, there is another part to the story that I will reveal in tomorrow's episode. So, I hope you all look forward to it :D.
